Focus.

'That's literally all you have to do' I thought to myself. I couldn't help but let my eyes wander to the beautiful skies that had presented themselves before me across the giant window. It was absolutely captivating. So much, that I could barely pay attention to my task at hand.

"Ms.Evans.." The impatient voice of my History teacher took me out of my daze.

"Yes sir?" I responded curtly, snapping my head up towards the front of the room.

"Please tell the class your take on The Cold War" He eyed me and waited for me to give an answer he knew I didn't have.

"Oh Mr.Parsons, I hardly think that is necessary-" I began talking but he cut me off with a simple 'Now, Ms.Evans'.
I cleared my throat and licked my chapped lips. The truth was, I have never paid much attention in this class. I might as well not have attended this hour. I ran my tongue over my lips once more before opening my mouth to speak.

"So you see-uh.." I was terribly nervous but continued anyway "the cold war.. It was-uh- very cold. Like freezing. And that was terrible because it-" I found myself picking at my nails while trying to get through this half a.ss explanation. Then, as if god himself was answering my prayers, the bell rang.

Everyone emerged from their desks and began grabbing their belongings. I slung my bookbag over shoulder and hurriedly made my way towards the door, skillfully weaving past several students on my way out. Making sure my exit was as lowkey as possible.

The day was done. I had made it. Now, I was just ready to get out of this place. I dumped the useless homework that I knew I wasn't going to do into my locker. I was smart, but that had nothing to do with some unimportant calculus homework.

I shut my locker door and jiggled the handle to make sure it was locked.

The fresh air of the outdoors filled my lungs as I took a large breath. Ah. I wanted nothing more to be cuddled up in my bed with my laptop, wearing a comfortable sweatshirt, eating yummy snacks. But I know I'd be having much more fun tonight. Leaning on the fact that I'd be showing up-unannounced- at someone's house.

My finger quickly rang the door bell. I heard a bit of shuffling as the jingle played out, indicating someone was in fact- inside that house. I rang the bell once more, earning a groan from behind the door before it was swiftly opened. A smile crept across the girls face and she opened her arms. I rested my head on her shoulder as my arms wrapped around her.

"Bria" I smiled into her sweater. We both let go and I stepped into the house. I casually threw my jacket onto the nearest surface, dropping my bookbag beside me. "How are you?" I asked as I walked into her room, kicking off my shoes and plopping onto her bed.

"You might as well live here." She chuckled and kicked my sneakers more towards her closet. "But I'm fine, thanks for asking. How is the ever so amazing Reagan?" Bria settled herself on top of her comforter, moving several pillows out of the way.

"I'll be great when you grab me something to eat." I giggled and sat up a bit.

"You know where the fridge is. Your legs ain't broke" she laughed and rolled over, closer to me "besides, I'd like it much better to be laying here with you."

"Now Ms.Lane, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you were flirting with me." I gave her a playful smirk and chuckled a bit. She laughed along.

"Oh you wish." My face was met with a soft yet firm white, fluffy pillow. And Bria couldn't help but laugh as she whacked me in the head.

After grabbing our snacks and relaxing on her bed, we began talking about different topics that our minds drifted to. Soon the plans of a party came up and I quickly dismissed the idea.

"Oh come on." She pleaded, letting the popcorn show in her mouth "You'll love it. Plus, it's already in motion."
"I really wish you would've asked me beforehand."
"It's not like it's happening right now.. and I am asking you...right now." Bria pleaded, pouting her lip and using her warm brown eyes to help. Finally, I gave in. "Fine. Fine!" She smiled and kissed me on the cheek, to which I faked a frown and playfully wiped it off.

"This is going to be epic!" She squealed once more before going back to her snacks. What have I gotten myself into.
