Picture of Kayla above!
Beep beep beep!
I let out a small groan before hitting my small alarm clock off. Sitting up and wrapping myself into a burrito blanket, it takes me almost 5 minutes to actually get up. I got maybe 4 hours of sleep last night. Staying up last night was not part of my plans, trust me. Today was the first day of school. Yes thats nerve racking for everyone, but even worse for me as Im going to be the new girl. Yay. Sarcasm intended.
Standing in front of my bathroom mirror I apply my makeup. Its nothing much just some mascara to make my blue eyes pop, foundation and some concealer to hide my huge bags. Now time for my outfit. I slowly make my way over to my closet and pick up an outfit I put together last night. Nothing too flashy, but I have to admit it was super cute! A white blouse matched with a blue skirt that went mid thigh, with white small dots scattered. And as for accessories a long arrow necklace and some arrow earrings. I comb my long brown hair to one side and quickly finger a braid.
After Im 100 percent sure my outfit looks okay I head down stairs into the kitchen. I head over towards to fridge as I hear the thump of my mom's heals on the kitchen tile, and turn around.
"Morning mom."
"Hello." She stops to look at my clothes . "Cute outfit, very nice for the first day." she smiles and pulls me into a tight hug. "Are you ready?"
I shift uncomfortably as she starts deep into my eyes. She's the only person who knows how hard it will be to try to fit back in. I just nod and turn back to the fridge. It becomes very awkward, but she just the subject alone.
"So what time do you have to leave?"
I glance at the microwave which reads 7:41.
"About 15 minutes I think." I say after I yawn. "You know what I think if I leave now I can grab a quick coffee."
"I think that would be a good idea," she laughs.
I grab my keys and phone then head out the door.

I can do this
Slow, deep breaths
I got this
I pull the key out of the ignition, and take one last sip of my coffee. Making my way out of the car I notice a lot of people staring at me.
Why are this many people? I thought.
Im 30 minutes early .
Yes, I had to come early for my schedule, since I missed my open house. I finally get inside of the school, where it was less crowded, thankfully, and head to the front office.
I walk into a small room and head to the big desk in the center of the room.
"Good morning, welcome back, how was your break?" A small woman asks me smiling. She has blonde hair tied up into a professional bun, with tan skin. When I don't answer Her smile almost fades.
"Hello?"
I immediately snap back into the conversation.
"Oh sorry,"I blush. "Um Im new and Im here to get my schedule."
"And name?" She asks still smiling.
"Kayla Helms."
"Okay just let me pull it up and print it for you, you can sit over there for a minute and I'll call you back up when its ready."
