Something Anyone Would Wish For

Flashing lights of many colors, noises of cars, drunks and people who just want to have a good time mixing together. This is my jungle, Hollywood, Sunset strip to be exact. Walking around with the high that I had now, made everything blur together. I really had no idea where I was going but hell I didn't care. A smile made its way to my face when I stepped into one of my favorite places, Seventh Veil. Girls, girls, girls, was all I could think of as I pulled out some ones, and setting myself in my favorite spot right up front. After being teased by the beauties there I made my way to The Whiskey A Go Go, man I need a drink. Setting myself at the bar, I ordered a bottle of Jack Daniels. Taking my first swig of my poison I didn't even notice the person next to me until he spoke.

"I have something stronger then that piss your drinking."

I turned my head to look at the guy, he wore all black, pale as the dead, with bleach blonde hair. "Are you talking to me man?" I asked.

The guy stubbed his cigarette out on the bar, "Who the fuck else would I be talking to?" I looked him over once again, "Then what do you want?" I asked about to take another swig from my bottle but his hand grabbed hold of the bottle slamming it down. "I have something better for you to drink." He said standing from his seat walking towards the door. "Follow me, Paul." With that he was out the door. I sat there for a few seconds thinking "How the hell does he know my name?" I quickly made my way out side, I couldn't see him anywhere. "Down here, Paul." Came his voice from the ally next to me. Now your probably thinking, "Don't fucking go down there, Paul." and I can tell you I would be thinking the same thing, but I'm getting over a high and I have some whiskey pouring through my veins. So yeah I followed him. I reached the end of the ally to see him leaning against the side of one of the buildings, holding a jewel covered bottle. "Take this, Paul." He said when I stood in front of him. I reached out and grabbed the bottled, licking my lips. "Man I'm thirsty." I thought. I popped opened the bottle, "Well bottoms up man." I said bringing the bottle to my lips taking in the strong liquid. It was like something I've never tasted before, I couldn't stop. It was addicting. I torn the bottle from my lips, handing it back to him. "What was that?" I asked.

"A new life." He answered.

"Who are you?"

"David." From then on David was my friend, no he was my brother.

The lights didn't flash so bright, and the noises weren't that loud as they used to be. But this place was still my jungle, and the people in it were animals. They were now my prey. For my new life gave me a gift. Something that I never really wished for but I didn't mind. I would never grow old nor would I die. I can just party all night, and sleep all day. Now that's something I think anyone would wish for.
