Progue 2

I sat on the edge of my bed, listening to Wings of Disgrace. My foot restlessly tapping along to the beat of my favourite song, The Disappearing Glance. Just as the song was getting to the chorus my dog, Milo, started barking which normally means that someone’s at the door. I stood at the top of the stairs peering down to see my mum standing with a small package clutched in her hand. I instantly knew that in that package where the tickets to see Wings of Disgrace, along with the tickets came a complementary keyring. The keyring was a picture of the lead singer, Kier Nolan.

Tuesday 6th July, the night of the concert. As I waited in the line of fangirling fans, I heard a small voice in the back head whispering,

“This is the night you will always remember”

The doors opened and everyone rushed in, to find the room dark and the stage empty. Everyone was looking around the room in a confused way. Then a sudden burst of light illuminated the stage in a red glow. Everybody started cheering as the band logo was projected onto the back wall of the stage. The band entered from the right wing, Kier at the front, the two guitarists. Ryan Sound on electric. Tom Flecture on bass. Then the gentle giant Sawyer Collins Jr on drums.

Kier opened the show by welcoming everyone into the arena. All the songs were from their 4th album, Life in a Nightmare. The first song was Dog Eat, Dog World. During the concert I managed to fight my way to the front and the bold writing on my t-shirt must have caught his eye, he came over to me and started to sing the chorus to me. I took off my favourite friendship bracelet and held it up to him. He took it and continued singing. It Was Best Day Ever!!

Sadly the concert ended way too soon. The last song sung was my favourite one, The Disappearing Glance. I made my way out of the arena, before starting my walk home.

Several minutes into the walk, I heard a scuttling noise like little rat paws. I turned around feeling eyes on my back. No-one was there. I turned back to continue but I couldn’t because there was large group of men in black hoodies and dark trackie bottoms. Slowly they fanned out around me. My heart was hammering  against my rib cage and I broke out in a cold sweat. I was surrounded. I knew then there was nearly 0% chance I was getting out unharmed.
