Living in Texas was always a happy place, a safe haven, for most and that's exactly what it was to Ember. Born and raised in the small town of Austin, it provided the best memories of her childhood. After graduating TTU, Ember decided it was time to do what she always wanted as an author; Buy a home in the outskirts and relax.
Being only 25, Ember had been on her own for quite some time. Her family no longer contacted her for family get-together's like they always did and soon she figured they no longer wanted her around. She decided it was best to pack up straight from collage and move into her own home. It was a wonder she could afford it but since her father left some money in his will, it was more than enough.
"Alright, I think that's the last of it," she sighed softly, setting the last box inside the back of her car.
"You sure you'll be okay?," Shellie, her best friend since kindergarten, asked worriedly.
Ember could only smile before letting out a small laugh, "You out of all people know I'll be okay," she looked to the ground before continuing, "I just need to get away from everything.. Relax and unwind for a bit."
Shellie nodded with a small smile as she hugged her dearest friend. "Well alright then. But you better be texting me if anything goes down."
Ember laughed, "Oh, don't you worry. I will." A soft sigh, "Crap. I gotta go. I'll text you asap. Muah! Bye!"
With one last hug, Ember quickly got inside her car and drove off towards her new home.

Upon arriving, Ember smiled at the scenery of her new neighborhood. It was very green, trees everywhere, the houses looked clean and modern, not to mention, huge. The house she saw online looked very decent and comfortable; just her type. Ember then parked in her drive way, staring at her new house. It was breathtaking, even better in person. She smiled getting out of her car and started to unload until she was practically bumped into someone causing her box in hand to spill its contents on the floor.
"Oh darn it..," she muttered under her breath.
"I am so so sorry, miss. Here, let me help you with that," a deep voice came from above her as she looked up and she mentally had to slap herself to reply.
Green eyes.
"Eyes.. - I mean, no, it's okay. It was an accident."
'The hell is wrong with you.'
The green eyed man filled the box of contents and picked it up with ease as he smiled at her.
"I really do apologize. I see your new to the neighborhood," he spoke gently seeing her embarrassment.
"It's okay, really. And yeah, caught me just in time," she joked lightly, grabbing another box before pulling out the keys to her home.
"I'm Jensen. Jensen Ackles. Pleasure to meet you.",he introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you as well, Mr. Ackles. I'm Ember. Ember Grace."
"Just tell me where to put everything. I don't want you unloading all this by yourself, Ms. Grace."
Ember smiled as they walked inside her home, the smell fresh since there hadn't been any tenants in a while. She told him to set everything in the living area before they finally sat down in her kitchen for a cup of tea.
"Thank you so much for your help. I'll bring over something homemade for you and your wife."
"Oh, it was no problem. Love to help out. As long as it's pie, I don't mind at all," he joked back with a warm smile as he sipped on his tea.
They talked for hours almost before Jensen sighed, signaling it was time for him to leave. Ember did her best to keep the frown at bay but smiled anyway, getting up and setting the dishes in the sink.
"It was a pleasure, Ember. Thank you for the tea and I hope you find yourself loving the block," Jensen said lightly walking towards the door.
"No, thank you for all you've done, Jensen. I'm glad I can have a neighbor like you. Tell your wife I said Hi and I look forward to meeting her."
Jensen nodded in agreement as Ember showed him out before giving him a small hug and goodbye. Ember sighed softly in relief glad she didn't have to break her back like she thought she would. Yet, her mind kept wandering off to her new neighbor. What was she thinking, she couldn't think this way. He was married for crying out loud.
Even still, It didn't stop her from daydreaming.
