“Yes? What do you want,” you asked the floating two.

“Aww, not even the slightest flinching? This girl is boring,” the smaller one complained. “Let’s get this over with.” As you looked up at them, you noticed the dark looks on their faces.

Oh. In a flash, you had jumped out of the tree and started running. “I take that back! I don’t want to know what you’re up to!”

“Hey! Get back here!” An explosion sounded off next to you, shrapnel and dirt filling the air. I wonder... Yes, that may work... Sorry in advance, Kisshu... You continued to run, but pulled the pendant from yesterday out of your pocket.

“Uhhh... What was it... Mew... Mew Mew Daseki! That was it! Mew Mew Daseki! METAMORPHOSIS!” The transformation this time around was quick. “Ahhh... I can hear better this way.” You did your best to listen for what you were looking for- the café from yesterday.

“Mew Mew Strawberry! METAMORPHOSIS!”

“Mew Mew Mint! METAMORPHOSIS!”

“Mew Mew Lettuce! METAMORPHOSIS!”

“Mew Mew Pudding! METAMORPHOSIS!”

Well, it wasn’t the café, but it was close enough. “Kuu-Rai-Sen!” You jumped up just in time to avoid another explosion. You were- you were flying! You were actually flying! You took a moment in your head to rejoice on this fact, only to be thrown to the ground from an explosion in the air. You let out a shriek as you fell, but you don’t remember an impact.

~~~
“[name]!” You frowned and curled into the tree, ignoring Kisshu for the moment. You were in pain, and lots of it.
“I don’t wanna open my eyes. It’s too bright here today...” you muttered.
“Bat-chan, are you complaining?” Oh no, he was NOT going to go there. “Because you know what we ruled about complainers!”
“Oh, do I,” you mumbled as you cracked one eye open. “I don’t recall us ever saying anything about that. Besides,” you yawned. “I just got shot out of the sky by some idiots given explosives, I don’t got time for your teasing.” He was standing above you as you spoke.
He sighed. “All right, we’ll do this the hard way then.” You were suddenly soaked by a bucket of ice-cold water. You yelped and literally shot five feet in the air.
“K-K-K-K-Kisshu! Th-th-th-that was for summer! Why would you do that?” You glared at him playfully. He grinned.
“So you said you were flying? What happened?”
“Well, I was out climbing trees and exploring this park when I heard some brat’s voice,” you began. “When I responded while looking for the voice, some kid and someone who was tall enough to be the kid’s father appeared out of one of those teleporty things like you can make. Something inside me was practically screaming at me to run, so I did and they started trying to kill me by using something- some stuff that blew up. I think I heard ‘Kuu-Rai-Sen’ or something like that a few times, too. I had that pendant with me, so I transformed because I had a theory that I could fly when transformed, and I started flying. They kept shooting stuff at me and I heard those girls coming. They were about to come out from the trees when I was hit straight in the back and knocked out.”
Kisshu cursed from above you. “That was Pai and Taruto. They’re my adoptive brothers. I’ll have to talk to them about that when I wake up. So, let’s see that transformation, since you have the pendant!” You grinned.
“Only if you promise to give me flying tips! It doesn’t come as naturally as I made it seem!” You took a deep breath. “Mew Mew Daseki! METAMORPHOSIS!” It took only a moment until you were back in the air, gracefully flying. “Oh man, this feels so much better now that I’m not in a possible life-or-death situation!”
~~~

At Café Mew Mew, the bright light shone around your body as you transformed on the bed you had been placed in. The Mews in the room all snapped their heads to see you transforming, fully unconscious.

~~~
Kisshu quickly had you mastering flying, so quickly, in fact, that he was finding it hard to believe that flying really wasn’t natural for you. You met his eyes only for a moment to see him truthfully smiling, when the two of you were jostled out of your dreams...
~~~

“Oh!” A blob of green hovered in your vision. “She’s awake! I’ll let Shirogane-san and Akasaka-san know!” Her face disappeared from your view as she left. Your back was killing you, as was your stomach and the entirety of the rest of your middle body. You craned your neck to try to see the others in the room, but were met only with more random colors and no more clarity than you had had before. You slammed your head back down and let out a groan, which caused you to have a headache. You briefly wondered the whereabouts of your glasses, and cursed yourself for deciding against contacts that morning.

“S-so uh,” you croaked beautifully, “Where did I end up anyway?” You couldn’t hear everything, you realized. Every great bit of knowing where everyone was was... gone. “I can’t hear,” you continued. “Lately I can tell where everyone is, and how many people are in the room. But I can’t hear like that now. Did... something happen?”

“Well,” a voice spoke up, “You’re at Café Mew Mew. We brought you back here after you passed out.”

“I... passed out? Wait... I’m at Café Mew Mew!? Oh no. OHHHH no no no no no no NO! I’m not- I’m not supposed to be here! I have to go! Where are my-” You had stood up and frantically looked around the room.

“Looking for your glasses?” Oh. It was Blondie from yesterday’s voice. You turned to face him with one eyebrow raised. "We took them so you couldn't leave again before we were done talking."

"I don't think you understand. I have to leave now! I'm not supposed to-" you stopped yourself. To get involved with you people. How were you supposed to explain why? And when were you going to get your glasses back? You voiced the latter, only to be brushed off.

“You’ll get them back after we explain everything and we get an actual answer from you.” You glowered at him and took a deep breath.

“Fine. I’m listening, but only because I need my glasses to get home. Speak.” You closed your eyes for a moment, trying to wave off the dizziness. It was overpowering.

You don’t remember when, but you were sat down in the darkened café and the others were explaining bit by bit the events leading up to that day. You weren’t sure about anything that was going on, or what they were saying. That’s when you thought of something. “U-um...” your voice was weak, “Do we know the names of the aliens?” Surely they knew something as simple as that.

“Pai, Taruto, and Kisshu,” one of them fired back. You smiled, though you weren’t sure why, and closed your eyes.

“I thought so.”

You continued smiling, even as you fell out of your chair and onto the floor.
