That night, I went out to the local bar and had some drinks to forget the events of the day. Alcohol did really help in downing the pain.

The next morning, though, I had a hell of a hangover. Whatever, I thought. I'd be flying off today anyway. It's not a big deal.

Mr. Crimson, well done. It's all in the news today. We have rewarded you well for the fast and easy job. See you at work tomorrow. I got a text from the company. Smiling, I went inside the shower and let the hot water cleanse my body.

"Jase!" I heard my mother exclaim in excitement.

"Mum, it's only been a day. "

"I've missed you," she smiled, pulling me in for a hug. I felt Jasper rub against my leg, and patted him. My mother had cooked some turkey sandwiches, my favourite food. I gobbled them down greedily, and watched some television, the news of another woman than Grace being murdered. I guess I had a competitor. Rumours were his name was Zach, as in Zachary, but they were not sure. The name Isaac still showed around, though. No big deal. They didn't find any evidence.

I felt Jasper climb onto my lap, purring for me to pet him. I stroked his fur slowly, and felt a soft vibration on my lap. It was a phone call.

"Hello? Is this Jase Crimson?" I let them answer first.

"Introduce yourselves," I said harshly.

"Sir, we are hosting a reunion for our high school, would you like to join in?"

"When and where is that?"

"Tomorrow night. Join us for some fun partying and possibly picking up dates. This is Terence. I'll see you tomorrow!"

Well, I haven't had an off day in a while...
