Justin stared at his reflection in the mirror, pursing his lips tightly as he fixed his suit, adjusting the tie to fit loosely around his neck.
Shoving his hands in his pockets after he was satisfied with how his tie looked, he continued to stare at himself, his image staring right back at him.
His own eyes pierced through him, and he felt as if his reflection was judging him, criticizing every aspect of his outfit, of his hair, of his image.
Justin's hands flew up to his neck once again, trying to fix the loose tie, tightening and loosening the black fabric until he eventually gave up and ran a hand through his messy blonde hair.
"Babe, you look fine."
Justin's eyes darted to the reflection behind him, the brunette female also staring at his reflection. He didn't turn around; his eyes just followed her as she walked around the couch, eventually making her way in front of him.
His eyes met hers, and his body released some tension once she placed her small hands on his chest. She was still about half a foot shorter than him, even in her tallest heels, so she had to stand on her tippy toes to give him a short kiss on the lips. Her lips were so soft.
He still hadn't said a word, even when she raised her delicate hands to fix his hair, then trail down his cheeks, grazing her fingers over his lips before fixing the black tie that he was so frustrated with just earlier.
"You're going to do great," she whispered, her eyes fluttering from her concentration on the tie to his eyes.
Nodding, he leaned down to capture her lips again in a fiery kiss, hands grabbing her hips to push her body back on the vanity table. She could feel her back press on the mirror.
Justin finally released her after a while, smiling once he noticed the rosiness of her face.
"Justin!" she whined, laughing. She pressed her palms to her cheeks, her reflection in the mirror doing the same.
"You look stunning," Justin finally spoke. He pulled her closer to his body, the couple smiling at each other's reflection in the mirror.
"Thank you," she leaned her head on his shoulder, his hand wrapped around her waist.
The two stood there in silence, enjoying each other's presence. The only sound was the clock ticking on the wall.
After a moment, she lifted her hand up, pointing at Justin's reflection in the mirror. "You know who I see?"
"Who?" Justin looked at her, confused.
"I see Justin Bieber, who holds the record-breaking single of What Do You Mean?. Just a year ago, he was arrested for drunk driving and having an expired license. Today, his album is out, and the whole world are still Beliebers.
Baby, I don't know who you see when you stare at yourself in the mirror, but I see my wonderful, handsome, and lovely boyfriend who I love to the end of the world.
I know it's difficult for you; I know you're still afraid of how people think of you and how they see you. But you're trying to be the best you can be, and that's all you can do. If you don't give it all you got, you're only cheating yourself. Give it all you got, but if it ends up happening, it ends up happening. You can't satisfy everyone, remember that. There will always be people who don't like you. Or who hate your music. Or dislike how you dress or how you do your hair or who you hang out with.
But give yourself grace. Understand that's just how it is. You can't do anything to fix that. It's out of your control."
He was staring at her the whole time; Ariana watched the reflection of his head turn to look at her. She cupped his cheeks with one of her hands and made him look at his reflection through the mirror.
"That is the Justin Bieber I love. And who I will always love."
He wrapped his arms around the shorter girl, burying her face in his chest. She snaked her small arms around his built chest, smiling against his suit as she felt his lips on the top of of her head.
"Ariana Grande, you are my purpose."
