"Maybe we should start talking directly to our main suspects." Gerald suggested on Monday morning.
"That's probably a good idea." I said.
"Ok, so I'll get in contact with the guys and we'll meet today at lunch."

When lunch rolled around we met with Johnny and Jay under a tree to the right of the soccer nets. "Apparently we're here to be interrogated." Johnny said casually as he approached us.
"Yeah, what's this all about?" Jay questioned.
"It's about these notes I've been receiving, I don't know who they're from and everybody I've talked to says you guys are some big suspects." I explained.
"Let me see the notes." Johnny demanded and I handed him the slips of paper I had luckily kept with me; he read them over and then passed the notes to Jay.
"Oh, so you assume it's us because it's signed 'J'." Jay concluded.
"You guys were two of many suspects, it's just that from what we've heard, you like to pull nasty pranks on people." I told him.
"Why would either of us bother pranking you?" Johnny inquired, I wasn't sure if I should feel offended or not.
"I don't know, why would you?" I retorted, layering the accusation in my voice on thick.
"Sorry, but for once I'm not the culprit here, I'm too busy planning for my biggest prank yet." Jay said.
"Yeah, I'm really not even sure who you are." Johnny put in, but I didn't really feel insulted.
"How can we know you're telling the truth?" Gerald questioned.
"We can't, we'll just have to trust them." I answered before the boys could.
"Exactly." Johnny agreed.
"Alright." Gerald said, defeated. "But I'll be keeping an eye on you." He warned.
"Go ahead, you're not the only one." Johnny shrugged as he spoke and then the boys left without another world.
"Well that went absolutely nowhere." Gerald sounded agitated. "Looks like we're back to square one."
"Don't freak out, we knew it was possible that they didn't do it." I soothed.
"Yeah but, I thought we really had something."
"We did; it just wasn't the right something."
"Huh, I'll keep digging and see what I can find." He said as he walked away sadly and I just rolled my eyes.

On Wednesday morning the scariest note of all was pinned to my locker:

You'll come to me or I'll come for you.
       -J

Obviously my stalker wanted me to meet up with them, but they didn't say where or when. I stuffed the note in my pocket while my eyes darted around nervously, I had no idea what to do; so I just moved onto advisory.

I sat at my desk, took the note out of my pocket and stared at it blankly.  "Uh oh, things are getting really intense." Gerald said, peeking at the note in my hand. I looked at him with concern.
"Yeah I know, I'm getting kind of scared." I told him.
"And for good reason. Maybe we should talk to Johnny and Jay again, they're probably more guilty than they let on."
"I still think they were telling the truth about being innocent." Gerald opened his mouth to say something when the announcements started playing and we stood up for Oh Canada. I listened to the usual announcements of clubs that were running during the week and what was being sold in the cafeteria until I heard something unusual.
"Would Violet Watson please come to the office after announcements?" My heart practically stopped when I heard my name, I knew it was my stalker who had called me to the office and Gerald seemed to know it too.
"What are you going to do?" He asked.
"Well, I'm going to go to the office of course." I answered.
"Good luck, and be careful."

I walked as slowly as possible to the office, both nervous and excited, I was nervcited. But I wasn't in the office long because there was already a note waiting for me on the first chair in front of the secretary's desk; without hesitation I picked it up and read it:

Today, outside, under the tree next to the soccer nets.
                -J

I knew exactly where they meant. I looked around the office and saw only secretaries, no students; so I quickly ran out of the office before I was asked why I was there.

"What happened? Did you meet your stalker?" Gerald questioned excitedly.
"No, but I'm going to meet them today at lunch." I responded, handing him the note.
"Oh my god, no way! This is so cool, a rendezvous with your stalker." He seemed way more excited than I did. "Can I come with you?"
"No, I should go alone, my stalker might run away if I bring someone with me."
"Aww, but I want to go on a rendezvous; mostly because I like the word rendezvous."
"I'm sorry Gerald, but I really should do this alone."

And I did do it alone, because when recess came around Grace, Gerald and Alice stayed behind while I made my way to the tree my stalker and I were supposed to meet under. I waited for a little while before I someone walking towards me. They were dressed in all black and I started breathing faster and faster. As the person approached me I realized it was a girl, so obviously Johnny Walters and Jay Barnaby were out of the question. "Hey Blue." My heart nearly stopped again, there was only one person I knew who called me Blue...
