"Mac and Cheese, for my sweetpea." Caleb happily placed a bowl of hot macaroni on my pillow covered lap. As I'd been sitting on the couch for the past hour waiting for him to bring me food.
"Thank you." I mumbled, keeping my eyes glued on the noodles. I ate silently as I heard Caleb humming to himself, he was quiet happy today. "Why're you so happy?" He paused, turning around to look at me with his boyish grin.
"Because I finally have you." He sighed, sitting down next to me throwing his arm over my shoulder.
"You've always had me as your best friend." I added emphasis on the best friend part, smiling grimly at him. He nodded, squeezing my shoulder, meanly. "Soon you'll learn." He kissed my temple, making me lose my appetite. I settled back into the cushion, leaning towards the warmth coming off Caleb.
"You're an asshole but I still love you." I laughed, resting my head on his shoulder as he tensed at my words.
"I love you more Court." He smiled, contently, flipping through the channels.

We watched two movies and Caleb was finally falling asleep, giving me time to think of how I could get out of here. I loved him, as he's been my best friend since I could remember, but it wasn't safe for me to be here, alone with him.
"Caleb" I straddled his one leg, trying to assure him of my happiness. He moaned, "I'm going to take a shower, okay?" He nodded, falling back asleep. I tiptoed, jogging to the bathroom, locking the door. "Okay, okay." I panicked not thinking anything through to form a plan! I could climb through the window like all the movies and books I've read, I chuckled to myself at how cliche this all is.
I stood on the rim of the tub, pushing the window open. "How in the name of the heck am I supposed to-" I heaved myself up to the window, shimmying through.
I paused, feeling the grass on my feet! "Oh my god!" Tears came to my eyes, as I looked around, happiness and panic taking over me.
I had no idea where we were, Caleb's house was the only one that I could see, there were so many trees. I took off running, the cold wind , giving me goosebumps.
I've tripped three times and I'm not even that far from the house maybe twenty five yards, that's it. "Damn you Caleb." I hissed, holding my stubbed toe.
"Courtney!" I heard him scream as I saw him in his backyard, where I had previously gotten out of the window. I turned around not wanting to look back at him or his house, I needed to get away.
I hide behind this old tree stump, crouching into the dirt. Shaking as I heard Calebs heavy breathing, coming from behind me. "Court. Where are you?" His voice cracked, as he slowed to a jog a few feet away from me. I shoved myself farther into the stump, whimpering. "God, God! You're so stupid, Caleb. You had her for only a little and you let her slip through your fingers!" He beat his hands against his head, pulling at his hair. I watched a few minutes of him beating himself up.
"Caleb." I reached out, immediately regretting it. He whirled his head to me, sprinting to close the distance between us.
"Baby!" He wrapped his arms around me, "I thought I lost you." He squeezed, putting me on my feet. He paused, his smile vanishing. "You ran away. You lied to me!" His hand made contact with my cheek with such force my head turned the opposite way.
I looked at him with tears in my eyes, "You should loose me, you don't deserve me. You have no right to do this to me, treat me this way." I screamed at him.
"That's it. I've had it with you." He forcefully grabbed my wrists behind my back, pushing me back towards his home.
