Bowen's POV-
"MOM! Stop mom! Mommy please!" I cried, screaming in agony. "You should've tried harder! Now my baby is gone! It's all your fault! I wish you would die! I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!" My "mother" said as she beat me over and over with the fireplace poker. I coughed up blood and she hit me again, "Now you ruined my carpet you useless scum!" I looked over at my dad, with a sympathetic look, asking him to help me just this once. He turned his head and walked away. I curled into a ball, my body aching and in pain all over as she took all her anger out and beat me into unconsciousness.
I woke up breathing hard, Aislin came in and turned on my light and sat on my bed taking me into her arms and rubbed my back, telling me it was just a dream. She'd always do this when I have those dreams, more like nightmares, she'd stay with me til I calmed down. "It felt so real. I could feel every hit." I muttered and she shushed me and told me it was over and that she's here. Once I calmed down, she stayed in bed with me til I fell back asleep, saying something about how she'll always be there. This time, all I dreamt about was blackness.
This time my alarm clock woke me up, I groaned as I got up and staggered to my bathroom, did my business, showered, and brushed my teeth and washed my face. Walking back to my room, I went to my closet, put on my galaxy hoodie and some dark wash jeans and my black converses. Styling my hair, I grabbed my back pack and filled it with what I'd need just in case and grabbed my phone, keys and helmet. I walked to the kitchen and saw a breakfast burrito and a note that read, "Breakfast, have fun at work" and a smiley face at the end, I laughed slightly and crumbled up the not and ate the burrito then set the alarm to armed away and locked the door, heading down to my Aprilla Tuono Blackflame bike (in media). Slipping on my helmet, I started him up and backed out of the parking lot and onto the main road.
*15 Minutes later*
I pulled up to the building and turned off my bike and hopped off and taking off my helmet. I walked in and signed in before heading to the room.
"BOWEN!!" The kids screamed as I entered the classroom. I didn't have to work til 12pm and since it was only 8am, I sometimes volunteer as a Teachers Assistant for second and third grade classes. I was currently in one of my favorite third grade classes. Some of the kids ran up and hugged me, while the rest smiled and waved. Mr. Boone, the teacher, greeted me and I greeted him back. The kids sat down and I went to the back of the classroom and sat at the empty table back there. "Now that Miss Bowen is her-. Hey! No passing notes Dakota and Brandon!" Mr. Boone said as he began to explain the project on adjectives and nouns and what to do. I got up and started handing out construction paper and scissors and the project sheet. "If you have crayons, markers or color pencils, you may go to your cubbies now." Mr. Boone said and some kids got up and went to their cubbies. Yes, they have cubbies in the third grade at this school. I handed out color pencil packs to those who didn't have any. I then walked around, helping anyone who needed it. I was walking when I felt a tap on my thigh. I looked down and saw a little girl I knew. She is the daughter of one of Aislin's friends that I've known for quite a while, and I would watch Nyla, the little girl. She looked distressed as she motioned for me to come down. I knew what this was. She was prone to accidents. She has a small bladder and can't hold it as long as other kids. I bent down and and she whispered in a small voice in my ear, "I had an accident." She said, I nodded and told her it was okay. I grabbed my backpack and told her to come on. I got the hook up with her mom on some of Nyla's clothes just for this reason because she knows I'm a TA. I told Mr. Boone I was taking her to the bathroom and her nodded. I walked behind Nyla so no one would see her pants all the way to the bathroom. Once inside, she looked on the verge of tears. "Shhhhh, it's okay. No need to cry." I said and she sniffed. I handed her the extra pair of jeans I got from her mom and a pair of underwear. She walked into the stall and changed and came back out and handed me her soiled clothes. I put it in a Walmart sack I had in my backpack and tied it up. We washed our hands and walked back to class. She sat at her desk and I slipped the bag into her backpack and zipped it up.
