Chapter Two

DISCLAIMER: I own none of the characters or anything else you recognise from the Harry Potter Series. It all belongs to J.K. Rowling. I own nothing but the plot.

Ron made his way back to the common room.

Act normally around Harry and Ginny. You know, good boy, studious etc. Be super nice to Hermione - your girlfriend to be, a voice chanted in his head.

Ron had never really had the mental strength of either Harry or Hermione and like Ginny, found it hard to resist being controlled as she had by Riddle in her first year at Hogwarts.

As soon as he entered the common room,

Hermione shouted, 'Thank God!'

'I told you he was fine, Hermione,' said Harry knowingly.

'Are you okay, what happened?' She asked, ignoring Harry and frantically checking Ron over for any damage.

Lie, a voice in his head told him.

'I was in the library,' lied Ron, confidently.

'I told you he might be in the library,' said Hermione, now taking her opportunity to be smug.

Harry looked shocked but said nothing.

'I'm sorry guys, I didn't mean to worry you,' said Ron.

'Don't worry, mate,' said Harry, now getting over his shock.

'Well, I'm going to have an early night tonight,' said Ron.

'What?!' Said Harry, shocked, 'You're not coming to the party in the Room of Requirement?'

Draco, who happened to be listening in via Ron's brain, was surprised. He didn't know that any of the Gryffindors, let alone any of the Golden Trio, attended the Room of Requirement parties. They weren't exactly where you would find your typical goody-two-shoes. But before he could give an order to Ron's mind to say no, if that wasn't what he would've usually said, Ron said,

'Of course not. Hermione wouldn't approve!'

Hermione turning a shade of deep magenta said, 'You're right, I'm glad you've finally decided to listen to me.'

Well, he was sure Granger would never go, anyway.

'Well,' said Harry, haughtily, 'I'll go with Ginny, Seamus and Dean, then.' Harry then walked away, dragging Ginny with him.

***

Harry and Ginny had decided to get back together after the war. They were deeply in love and only postponed their relationship to protect eachother.

***

I have feelings for Hermione and I'm going to ask her out, chanted the voice in his head.

'Hermione, would you come to my room, please?' Asked Ron, unusually polite. Usually it was a gruff "Hermione, follow me!" and like a house-elf, she would do as she was told.

'Of course, Ron,' she said, pleasantly surprised.

They walked up the boys' staircase and into his room, him closing the door behind her.

'Now that Harry's gone, I have something to tell you.' Said Ron, seriously.

Could it be? She thought excitedly.

'Ok, what is it?' She asked, unable to keep the excitement out of her voice.

Draco watched curiously, through Ron's mind. I was right, he thought triumphantly, judging by her excitement, they were on their way to becoming a couple.
