Chapter Two

Ryan's POV-

I hopped out of bed hoping for a good morning. Man, did I hate mornings. 

"Ryan, sweetie? Can you come down here please? Your father and I need to talk to you," my mom peered into my room. All I could think was, He is NOT my father. He is just some drunk with money, that you just had to marry. Even though he treats you like shit.

"Yeah just give me a second," I said with regret. I walked slowly through my bedroom making sure that everything was tidied up before entering the hallway.

"Hurry! I'm not going to stay here all day!" my step-father shouted from the living room.

"I don't have to listen to your shit, Jesse!" I screamed at him with full knowledge that with that comment I was getting smacked tonight.

"Ryan! You do not speak to your father that way!" my mom tried to defend him but I'm sure she is smiling inside. That's what I love about my mom. She is such a sweetheart but when it comes to people she loves, she is VERY protective. I do believe she loves him. I mean, she wouldn't marry him just for his money. Would she?

I get downstairs to find my step-father now past out on the couch. I guess I'm too late. Oh well!

"Ryan, I'm sorry about Jesse. He gets carried away sometimes. Anyway we will have this conversation later," my mom said in a sympothetic tone.

"It's fine," I said as I checked my watch."I have to get to school!" I shouted at my mom unintentionally.

I quickly changed, combed my hair, and put deodorant on. I quickly said goodbye to my mom and I was on my way to school in my black 1967 Chevy Impala. I live around 5 minutes away from the school by walking. But what can I say I have a rockin' car and I like to show it off.
