The couple sit there entranced by the television screen. It's glowing light illuminating the room a blue color.
The reporter sits behind the clean desk, his cup of coffee sitting there, steaming hot. The glass window behind him shoes the bright skyline of New York City
"A recent attack by the insurgents calling themselves 'INVENT' in a local Brooklyn subway system have sent city police into a panic. Officers are stationed at every stop along the line."
"Thankfully, no civilians were hurt in the attack, as one of the insurgents attempted to talk down the other two. The encounter turned violent as one of the insurgents shot the other two, and disappeared into a subway tunnel in a cloud of smoke."
"One of the civilians was a 12 year old boy named 'Lance' who was caught in the attack. He is now talking to local police about the event, and will be returned home to his parents later tonight. He seems to be doing fine, according to local police, if not a little shaken."
"Poor thing." says the mom, "I hope he's ok."
"I'm sure he'll be fine." The father says. But they don't even know that they are talking about, is there.
The door slams. Outside, a man in a white jacket leaves the house, and a 12 year old child enters. He is trailed by two older men. His shoulders lie relaxed, next to the stiff armed men in lab coats.
The man continues to walk down the street. He stops near a garbage can, opens up the lid, and jumps into it. The lid clatters to the ground, echoing through the deserted streets. Faintly, you can here the sound of a live news report about a fire in an office building uptown.
