Kyle's POV
It was 12:00 PM and I was thinking about the date I had with Adriana tonight. I want it to be perfect even though it's our first date. "Hey bro what are you thinking about?" Shawn says.

I was hanging out with Shawn today because we golf every Friday's which is pretty boring if you ask me. "Nothing. I'm just thinking about the date I have tonight." I say putting the golf ball on the T. "Oh so who's the girl?" Shawn asks wiggling his eyebrows at me. I let out a laugh "Her name is Adriana." I say grinning at the sound of her name. Shawn had a crazy look on his face which made mad. "The Smart Girl? Oh, I see what you are trying to do, you are trying to to get good grades. so you are going to go out with her so she can "help" you."

"I am not doing that to her! That's so mean and cruel. Why would you think that?" I say giving him a scowl. "You know what happened last time you went out with a girl like that." Shawn says.

2 Years Ago*

It was sophomore year and I was failing pretty badly. Coach Taylor told me that I had to get my grades up or I would be of the team. So, I thought of a good idea, but it was kind of bad. There was this girl name Abigail Tabares. She was pretty, shy and was number 2 in our whole class. I knew that if I went out with her that I could get good grades in all my classes so I could stay on the football team. So, I told my friends, which was a really stupid idea. So, after football practice I knew that she had some club after school. I saw her leaving so, I went up to her and I asked her out. She immediately started to blush and she said yes. Of course, why would she say no to me.

On Friday Night after my football game, I told Abigail that we would go out later. I see her waiting for me after my game. She had this beautiful red dress on that looked really tight, but I didn't mind it. I grabbed her hand which made her jump. I laughed and she turned bright red. I kissed her on her cheek and she giggled.

I took her to this really fancy place called Fortellos. Her eyes were wide when we arrived at the place. Once we were seated we started to talk about school and how her mom puts so much pressure on her. I finally asked her if she could tutor me and she agreed. Our food finally came at the right time. I kept asking her about her life and where she see's herself in the future.

After we finished eating, I took her to my quiet place which was my boat. She was so happy that I brought her to my boat because it was my favorite place. I kissed her which shocked her, but she finally started to kiss me back.

We dated for about 2 months after that until I got my grades up which really impressed coach. The next day, I broke up with her because I really didn't need her anymore. She was really pissed at me for lying to her, but she was even more pissed at me because she lost her virginity to me. I didn't know that she was a virgin. She has hated me ever since because every time I see her she just rolls her eyes at me.

Present Time*

"I would never do that to Adriana. I really like her and I don't want to mess this up." I say to Shawn. Shawn just shakes his head and looks at his phone. I wonder what his problem is?

It was finally time for my date with Adriana. Earlier when I left the golf course I got to thinking what I should get Adriana for our first date. I mean what girl doesn't like gifts?! So, I went to Jared and saw this beautiful bracelet that I knew that it would look beautiful on her. Once I left Jared I knew I had to go straight home and get ready. I feel something vibrate in my pocket and I see that my dad was calling me.

"Hello!?" I say answering the phone. I hear him clear his throat "Hello son. I've been needing to talk to you about your schoolwork." He says with a strong tone. "What about it? I've been in class everyday and I get decent grades, so why do you sound so disappointed?" I ask huffing at the end.

"I'm disappointed because I got a call from the school saying that you haven't been attending your science and foreign language class!" He says in a irritated. I smirk at the comment he just made. "First, I hate science so why should I go when I wouldn't pay attention anyways. Second, my foreign language teacher hates me and Third, I don't know why they called you on the first place because you left me and mom for some stupid mistress!" I say hanging up the phone.

Flashback*
It was almost the end of Sophomore when my dad said he had a business trip in NY! So, he left for about 1 full week without contacting us about if he made it or if he didn't. I was so pissed that I decided to ask one of friends' friend to watch out for him. Sure enough he was found with a woman who looked like she was my age. So, I decided to not tell my mother that my father was cheating on her. Once my dad got home from his "business trip" I decided to wait before I told my mom what I found out on my dad's business trip. It was about a week later and I couldn't stand looking about my dad without seeing him with that woman. So, I told my mom that I wanted us to go out to eat like a family because I had some news to tell them. We arrived at this nice restaurant called Fortellos which looked like the perfect place to go so I could spill the beans about dad and his "new" girl. It was a matter of time before we were seated and food was ready and already on our table.

"So dad how was your business trip? I bet it was pretty busy." I say taking a bite of my food. He chuckled and covered his mouth with his napkin. "It wasn't that busy, but it was a great experience!" He says and I start to laugh. "So, did you have fun your " new girl" or should I say woman? " I say crossing my legs. My mom almost stops in her tracks when looks at my dad. "Is this true Robert?" My mother asking with her eyes bulging into his. "Of course not honey. Why would I do that to you?" My dad says so innocently. "Does this explain why he would "never do that" to you mom?" I ask showing he a picture of my dad and the woman. I could see my mom starting to cry. "Robert, why would you do this to me? Was I not good enough? Did I not make you happy? What did I do?" My mom says while sobbing. My dad tries to touch my mom's leg, bid she jerked away. "Honey, you didn't do anything wrong. I just.. I don't know how to explain it. I'm sorry Cynthia!" My dad says. The waiter cones back and then realizes that she came back at the wrong time, which made me laugh. "What are you laughing at? This is a serious matter and your laughing!?" My dad days tightening his hands on his knife "I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing at the waitress." I say in a "duh" matter. My dad drops his knife which brings attention to our table. "I'm not liking this smart mouth of yours so, I suggest you watch it." He says getting into my face. "Don't talk to him like that! Just pay for our meal and take us home and I want you out by tonight!" My mom says walking out.

I was pretty amazed how fast dad could pack and leave, but I am glad that bastard is not in my life anymore.

Present Time*
It has been 2 years since my dad has been with his mistress Ronda. Dad wanted me to meet her, but I never wanted to see her because I didn't want to hurt my mom's feelings.

I finally got home which didn't take very long. "Hey sweetie!" My mom says. "Hey Ma!" I say giving her a kiss. "Son, why do you have a Jared's bag?" My mom asked raising one eyebrow. "It's nothing." I say and I start to walk up the stairs. "Kyle Nathaniel come back here!" My mom says. I walk back down and I look at her. My mom is about 5'4 and has brown hair with green eyes just like mine. I don't know where I get my height from, but defiantly not from her.

"Who is this lucky girl Kyle?" My mom says while smiling. I laugh and say "Her name is Adriana." My mom comes to me and gives me a hug. "Please treat this girl right. I have a feeling this girl is going to be a good one for you!" She says and walks away.
