Leila's POV

When I said I blacked out, I mean everywhere was seriously black, even in the game. The sudden white light that flashed on me made me wince in pain.

A very cheerful NPC walked up to me.

[Welcome to Kingdom Royal! In here you may choose your race you will belong to. We have beasts, elves, dark elves, angels, fallen angels, dwarfs, demons, werewolves, and human. The race you choose cannot be changed unless you delete your character, so please choose wisely.]

As she explained every race, they each popped up in order with my face.

I have seen and been in many virtual reality games, playing one again did not decrease my interest by any less. Not to mention that this game has not gotten me even close to being disappointed, seeing how 3D everything is. Well, what you can expect from a ninety-nine percent realism.

I marched stiffly in front of every race, taking a look at their stats, their pros and cons, while I carefully calculated which race would give me the biggest advantage. I already told the NPC to dismiss the beast and the dwarf; no matter how much the race may advantage me in battle, I still had my pride and being in the ugly mask of the beast and dwarf clan was not within my plan.

I was there for I don't know how long, pacing around every race I thought was okay to use. But what was the most annoying was how the races with MY face kept on following me with their exact same blue eyes as my mom, ugh, it's creepy.

After a while the NPC stepped up to help. [What do you think about the angel race?]

I shook my head at her suggestion, "sorry, but how she gives off the kind vibe doesn't fit me," kind and innocent is probably the last thing people will think of me.

The NPC looked confused but refraned from asking more. [Then how about the human race, they are relatively good for a character. You may not be very good in one specific area but instead your stats are spread out evenly enough.]

"...No, I don't like that one even more, it's too normal and easy to be killed," my mother's image always comes to mind with that race.

With every suggestion she voiced, I came up with all that I don't like about the race, I mean I can't help it really, I've got to know every race and has been shown the bad side of it. Trying out the first ninety-nine percent realism game, I was hoping they came up with some new race to make them stand out for a longer time period.

I searched upwards without much thought and was about the knee down in depression. My action was interrupted by a large in take of breath that came from the NPC, was she going to sneeze or something? I looked back down towards the girl in curiosity, could NPCs sneeze?

"Hey, are you okay? I don't think that's what normal NPCs are able to do." I went quiet at the end as I realized that she was gasping. And I'm pretty sure the brown piece of paper floating in arms length away from her wasn't there before.

I waited silently for her to explain what was happening, but still she didn't respond and had her face glued on the piece of paper in front of her. When I observed closely I could see that her eyeballs were moving in an alarming speed as she read over the words over and over.

Looks like I had to get the answers myself I thought as I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. I was about to speak when something shimmered in front of me.

Going my instincts of a trained martial artist, I leaped backwards and was able to land steadily despite how unexpected it was.

The NPC raised an eyebrow at my action, no never mind that, actually looked at me for the first time in six minutes.
