It seems like days have gone by and my legs are killing me. I do anything for a drink or a xomfy nights sleep. For the past few nights Ive been sleeping under trees trying to stay warm. good luck with that in England.
stressed was an understatement I hadn't had a smoke for a whole day and felt sorry for anyone if they approached me. Not so far ahead I see a texaco petrol station sign, I couldn't believe my luck after three days walking and nit seeing a single car I've come to my first sign of civilisation. I rooted in my bag grabbed my purse and checked for my bank card. hallelujah its there! feeling mega satisfied with my self I picked up the pace to get there quicker.
I opened the door to the shop, no one wae about, I walked down to the drinks aisle and got a botrle of ice cold water, in my way over to the till I grabbed snacks, crisps and chocolate as I was starving.
an elderly man approached the counter and smiled, it was an innocent snile yet it sent shivers up my spine, I bought all my supplies, a packet if cigs, and a first aid kit for my head and to bandage my arm. not a word was exchanged between me and the old man until I saw a phone behind the counter.
"scuse me, can I borrow your phone to ring a taxi or something as I really need to go to hospital, I crashed my car a little about 20 miles back" I asked shyly; my main priority was to go to hospital sort my self out then get some one to tow my car. my folks would be going out of their heads worrying but ill contact them when I'm sorted.
"yes of course you can dear, I'll give you the address for the hospital." he smiled passing me the phone.
I rang and the taxi would be3 here within ten minutes, smiling I said thanks and walked out. I crossed the forecourt and got a cig out waiting for the taxi. trying my lighter over and over again I realised it was well and truly out of gas. turning around quickly in a huff a stomped into the garage to buy another lighter. I opened the door and there was nothing. I mean nothing. No food no counter no man. I couldn't believe it I rubbed my eyes and shouted the man but ni reply. this was insane. I just couldn't get my head around it, drifitng in to a trail of thought the phone loudly rang and distracted me. I ran over to answer it.
"this is an automated message, your taxi is on its way and will be there within 5 minutes."
shaking I pu5 the phone down, if everything has gone including the old man how is the taxi still ordered? Dust and cobwebs were every where like the joint hadn't been touched at all.
I shook my head thinking I was concussed, I stolled out of the building when something caught my eye, in the dirt on the window it read 'Don't go there, you will never leave'
don't go where? This was getting stranger and stranger. But I had to push forward before my head got worse! I was hallucinating now.... or was I?
