"Heather, just please will you ask your boyfriend about that job," I asked Heather. Heather is my sister. We're twins actually, but not identical. We have this special bond that absolutely no one can break. She's currently in my small New York apartment next to me on the couch.

"Geni, I already told you. He said that the position has been filled and he probably won't be firing anyone else soon."

I groaned. My name is Genesis Erikson, but most people just call me Geni (pronounced like Jenny). I graduated college about 2 years ago with a masters degree studying psychology.

I started my own small business as a counselor; you know, marriage, relationship, stuff like that. I had it for a year before I shut it down. I just wasn't as into it as I thought. Now, I live in this small apartment with the occasional visit from my sister and parents. I just turned 28 last month and I feel like the adult in me isn't quite as active as it should be.

"I need a life and a job. I'm gonna lose my apartment-"

"It's not a great apartment," Heather says before turning her head away from me.

"I like my little apartment," I pouted, "It keeps me safe and I've decorated it so that it's not so... blah."

"Yeah, okay Geni. Look, I have to meet up with Bryant at Panera so I'll talk to you later, yeah?

"Tell Bryant that if a position becomes available, I'll take it."

"Okay," Heather says as she gets up from the couch and walks towards my front door. "Love you sis!" Heather blew me a kiss and walked out of my door.

I sighed and then walked to my room. I wasn't going to give up on looking for a job. I went to go put on so comfortable clothes. Whenever I'm stressed about something, I go for a jog. That is exactly what I was planning to do. I got my phone, earbuds, and keys and went out.

I had on a grey crop top, grey sweatpants, and black and white adidas sneakers. I was just walking down the street to Starbucks and when I went in, I ordered my drink and waited. I put my earbuds in and played the first thing that was on my playlist named "Exercise". I could see on my phone that the song was playing, but I couldn't hear it. I turned up the volume and could hear it a little bit. I looked up and literally everyone inside the establishment was looking at me. Only then did I realize that I didn't plug my earbuds in. I have never been more humiliated in my entire life.

I was about to turn the music off when this guy came out of nowhere and started dancing to the song. He was a pretty good dancer. He kept dancing until the end of the song and then I turned it off. Everyone in the Starbucks clapped including me. He bowed.

"Thanks. My friend here planned the whole thing! That's why she played the music out loud," he announced to everyone giving me a subtle wink.

The guy then came and sat with me.

"Thanks for that, by the way. You saved me from mass humiliation," I said to him and giggled. This guy was very good looking. He looked about my age and was dressed in workout clothing.

"You're so welcome. A pretty girl like you doesn't deserve to be massively humiliated," he laughed, "so what's your name?"

"Jenny," the Starbucks barista called and I looked up at the guy across from me.

"Geni. My name is Geni."

I went to go pick up my hazelnut iced coffee and then sat back down.

I looked at my cup and of course they spelled my name wrong. They spelled it J-E-N-N-Y.

"Dang it," I said under my breath.

"What's wrong," asked the handsome fellow across from me.

"It's nothing," I said with a wave of my hand, "they just spelled my name wrong. My name is spelled G-E-N-I. It's short for Genesis."
