Hunter agreed to meet me at the restaurant. I invited him to have dinner with my parents and my sister. He of course said yes and I am waiting at the restaurant right now. I know what you might be thinking. Why are you bringing him to meet your parents now? You just met the guy earlier today! Don't put up the red flag yet. He's only coming and as a friend and as a representative of his father's company. You see, my parents would never believe me if I said that I possibly had a position at Johnson Heights. He is coming as proof that I have an interview. Trust me, you don't know my parents. They won't be satisfied until they hear it straight from the source. Plus, they hate me so... There's always that.

This restaurant was very fancy and expensive. Another fun fact about my family, they're loaded. So, that's part of the reason why they have such high expectations for me. I'm waiting at the front of the restaurant for Hunter and he doesn't show up after 10 minutes from when I told him to meet me. Then, I see a Lamborghini pull up to vallet and out steps Hunter Johnson in a suit and tie. He tosses the vallet worker his keys and then walks up to me.

"Hey, Gen," he says and I smile at his nickname for me.

"I thought you weren't gonna show. I got scared," I said looking around nervously.

"Yeah, sorry about that. Bailey needed me back at the house. I had to take her out before I came here," he said looking down.

Bailey. Of course. Why did I ever think that a guy like him was free? But why would he go out on a date right before coming here?

"Oh," is all I said.

"So, where are your parents," he asked.

I peered over the wall between the foyer of the restaurant and the dining hall. Hunter was looking right behind me as I pointed to a large rectangle table in the corner of the restaurant. There sat my mom, dad, and sister.

"I thought you only had one sister."

"I do. The other one is the wicked witch of every direction!"

"Really? Your mom looks so young!"

"She only looks like that because she used me and my brother's college fund on her face," I said.

I turned back around to face Hunter.

"Now, do you remember what I texted you earlier," I asked him.

"Yes, your father's name is Edward and your mother's name is Marisol."

I grunted and said, "Marilyn! Her name is Marilyn. As in Monroe. Now, my parents can be real jerks. Especially my mom. So if my mom says something that offends you or me, just treat it as normal, got it?"

"What? No! If they disrespect either of us, I'm gonna call them out on it. Why would you even tell me to do that," Hunter said in response.

"Because that's what I do when they're mean and rude to me," I said shrugging it off.

I put my eyes back on the table as I started to walk their way with Hunter following close behind.

Heather was the first to notice us. She smiled widely and got my mom and dad's attention.

"Look, they're here!"

"Hello, mother," I said as she responded with a fake smile.

"Hey, dad," As I said this my father pulled out a genuine smile.

My dad hates me and is really mean to me also, but he still loves me. My mom on the other hand, not so much.
