It was a regular Saturday. Me and my son, Vinny, had woken up around ten-thirty, the usual. But on the other hand my wife and our seven month baby was also asleep.

"Hey daddy can we make some pancakes?"

Mona loves pancakes, I love pancakes. I don't see why not.

"Sure buddy, go get some eggs."

I walked to the cabinet and grabbed a bowl along with other essentials. Vinny came back with the eggs and layed them on the table.

We both got busy right after.

"Daddy can I add some sprinkles? Sprinkles make everything better."

I smiled at my son and patted his head full of hair. "Sure thing, add as many colors of sprinkles you'd like, I'm going to go check on mommy."

Vinny quickly got to work adding all kinds of sprinkles.

I slowly walked up the stairs and into my bedroom which currently was a mess due to the boys sleeping over.

There in our bed lay my beautiful wife on her side with my youngest son, Ilias, right beside her with his arms and legs all over the place. I smiled to myself and closed the door.

"Vinny are you ready buddy to make the pancakes?" I said softly as I walked down the stairs.

I got no answer which caused panic to over come my emotions.

"Vin, buddy, can you hear me? Vinny,"

I quickened my pace as I got to the floor looking for my son.

Being a targeted FBI agent, sometimes leaving your family could be the death of them.

The flush of a toilet calmed me a little bit instantly.

"Buddy? Did you finish adding all the sprinkles you wanted in the pancake mix?"

The door opened. I gasped.

There was Vinny with pancake batter all over him. As soon as he took in my expression he started to cry. I ran quickly to my son and held him close.

"What happened Vin?" I asked frantically.

"I thought I saw someone."

My heart stopped and all of a sudden I heard a scream from upstairs. My blood ran cold. Vinny's eyes instantly widened and began to cry more as he whispered "Mommy,".

I took off Vins shirt and put my sweaters on him instead. It fitted him like a dress.

"Vin I want you to stay in the bathtub, okay?"

Vinny furiously shook his head no. "Don't leave me daddy,"

I kissed his forehead and stood up. "Be quiet okay? don't worry I'll be back I promise."

Vin shut his eyes tightly. I gently placed him in the back corner of the tub and pulled the curtains closed.

I cautiously walked out and up the stairs.

I cracked open the door and saw my wife covered in blood stains. I ran up to her quickly.

"Oh Love, what happened? Why didn't you call me?"

She simply ignored my question. "Vin, where is my baby? Vin?"

She had multiple stab wounds. "He's fine relax, what happened and where is our baby?"

She closed her eyes and took death breaths then opened them again. "As soon as he stabbed me he jumped off the balcony, the baby is in the closet surrounded my blankets." She rushed out.

I looked over to our open balcony. My eyes began to water. I put her against the bed and made a dash for the phone and instantly called and told them what happened.

After the phone call I went back to my wife and held her close. She had to make it, for me and my boys, our boys. All of a sudden a whine of a baby was heard from the closet inside. "Go to our son." She mumbled weakly.

I instantly made a dash to the closet and grabbed my baby boy. "Don't worry, daddy has you and won't ever let you go, I promise."

I walked back to my wife to see her lifeless eyes. I shut my eyes and quickly walked down stairs and into the bathroom.

"Vinny it's daddy."

The shower curtain quickly opened and two small arms wrapped around my legs. He started to sob as he kept saying "I love you." Over and over again.

I pulled him close as well as my other boy and cried as I held them tight and protectively. We all sat in the tub as I sang to them waiting for the ambulance.
