"I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death." A deep, booming voice goes threw the classroom. The voice belongs to the teacher that's standing in front of the students that are in said classroom. Suddenly, our eyes meet, his smoldering black orbs, to my dark chocolate.
A sudden laugh yanks me out of my day dream. Now I'm back in Algebra 2 Accelerated class. It's a class where you get through a year of math in a half of a year instead of the entire time.
I pout, not happy about not being in Potions class with Severus Snape. I really do want to learn how to brew those potions, and having Snape as my Professor is a HUGE bonus.
I look over to my left, that is to my friend Hannah. It was her that took me out of my happy day dream. Hannah's of course giggling over something that she found on the internet on her phone. She's still laughing too.
"What'cha laughin' at?" I ask with my thick southern accent. Hannah looks over at me, still silently laughing with a large, goofy smile.
"I'm on Tumbler." She responds with a squeaky voice, still laughing. She has a northern accent. I'm a southern girl, from Mississippi, living in Michigan. Where I feel like I'm going to freeze to death constantly.
"That's all I need to hear, it's a weird place." I giggle with a grin. All that Hannah can do is nod as she's shaking and not really breathing due to trying to keep her loud laughter down.
All of the sudden, a bright light speeds past my face. I blink twice 'What the hell?' I glance back over to my extremely short haired friend who has finally settled down but still has her wide grin as she continues to scroll through whatever she's in. She's huddling by the wall, reminding me of Gollum, cooing over his precious. I began to scan the room, trying to find the source of that light.
"Did you see that?" I ask, while still trying to find that miniature sun.
Hannah straightens up, and begins to look too.
"What?" She asks while looking.
That blinding like speeds by again, we both jump in our seats. We get some looks from other classmates, which isn't unnatural, we're weird people.
"Da' hell?!" Hannah squeaks. Here comes more looks.
That light didn't come back. The day carried on like normal, well, as normal as someone like me can get. I was in my last class, Biology, trying desperately trying not to fall asleep. My teacher just goes on and on. She's the only person I know that can talk about nothing for an hour straight. As soon as I got home, I fell on to my couch and fell asleep right away. Little did I know that Hannah did the same thing.
Now I'm in Diagon Ally, there's a lot of people. I was standing in front of Olivander's so I went inside. I was hesitantly looking around, afraid to touch anything. I hear a ding of a bell go off behind me, I whip around, it scared me half to death! I notice familiar a short person, short brown hair, and glasses.
"Hannah!" I half sighed in relief and half scolded her.
Hannah stared at me for a second then yelled "Kara!" In the same tone as I did her name.
Suddenly a scraping sound began, it got louder and louder. Until finally Olivander himself appears on his slider ladder. Which was the source of that sound. The old man is looking straight at us with a friendly smile.
"Ah! Kara and Hannah, I have been expecting you." The jolly old man chirped.
We look at each other, confused. Hannah's glasses gleaming in the light from outside.
Olivander hops down from his ladder, and begins to trudge along to the back of the shop. He leaves behind a awkward and confused air, which is surrounding me and Hannah.
"Eeeeh, ooook?" I said, confused.
"I dunno man!" The glassed girl basically shouted.
After what felt like an eternity and trying to keep Hannah from touching anything while Olivander traveled back to us. He was holding two slender boxes.
"Here we are." The old man mumbles as he hands Hannah a wand which came from a dark blue box. The wand had a really dark brown wand with a light bottom end. Then he turns to me, he hands me a wand that came from a dark green, very dusty, box. Which was a dark red color and an even darker, almost black, bottom to it.
Hannah waves her wand, and the once very pretty white and blue vase at the far corner of the room is now dust. Mine on the other hand began to glow, and I felt a strong power coming from it.
Hannah gives me a halfhearted glare, while I just give her a smug grin. "Of course I don't get mine on the first try!" Hannah huffed.
Olivander travels around his counter to stand in front of me.
'This wand, is a Cherry and Walnut make. It is eleven inches long, rigid, and with a core of a dragon heart string. That core, is a very rare one. Take good care of this wand, if it breaks, it will take a long time to repair it because of that core's rarity." Olivander gave a friendly lecture. I just smile and nod.
He turns back to go off and find Hannah another wand.
