"So what brought you to Chicago?"
"Oh-um just needed a fresh start"
"Really? From what?"
"Just some stuff that happened. I don't really want to talk about it."
"Well then where are you from?"
"Washington."
Shelby and I were currently sitting in a small coffee shop a few hours later sipping lattes and getting to know each other better. She asked so many questions I hardly had time to ask my own.
"Do you have any siblings?"
She curiously asked another question. She's very outgoing, unlike my more reserved personality. I'm an introvert, and she's clearly and extrovert.
"No. My parents only wanted one child." I replied
"Must have been very lonely. I'm the youngest of 4."
"Very. Must be nice having siblings and someone to talk to. Where are you from?" I quietly answered
"Sometimes it is but there's times I wish they weren't there. Oh I'm from here. Lived here my whole life and don't plan on leaving, I love it here."
"So have you found a job yet?"
"No, haven't had time. Where do you work?"
"I work at the strip club a few streets over actually. I could get you an audition if you'd like."
It figures that she's a stripper, she's tall and thin and very small. I consider her offer, almost saying no. But I'm kind of small too, curvier than her but not considered fat or anything. Also I can't afford to be picky if I want to get a job and be able to get an apartment.
"Yeah that'd be great. Thanks." I smile at her
"Wait can you dance?" She asked
"Yes" I used to dance on my schools dance team to get me away from home longer so hopefully I'll get this job even if it's not exactly ideal
"Well it was great meeting up with you but I'd better get back home, I have a ton to do. Thank you for the coffee. I'll talk to you later." I add before grabbing my stuff heading out. It was a long day today but it's nice that I got stuff done and met my first friend here.
By the time I get back to my hotel room is dark outside and I'm exhausted and freezing so I just head to bed early hoping for a good sleep
