It's a bright, sunny day outside, a small wind blowing through the town. I walk alongside my brother and sister, the sound of their laughter traveling throughout my ears. I sit down and watch them as they play together, creating stories from their ever growing imaginations, this time being the tale of a princess and her prince. I call out to them, telling them we needed to head home soon. Suddenly, the wind begins blowing dramatically, grey clouds arise as the sky grows darker, thunder erupting. The atmosphere changes in an instant. Next thing I know, someone has me under their grasp, my vision blurring within each second.

"Don't run, there's no escape," the voice says.

I woke up, sweat on my forehead, trembling in fear, the image still repeating itself inside my mind over and over again. It was only a nightmare...a very frightening nightmare. I looked outside the small window in my room to see the bright full moon shining in the sky, the sun long gone, nowhere in sight. I glanced around the room nervously, my hands intertwined, hoping I didn't wake anyone from their slumber. I rose from my bed, walking over to my younger brother and sister scrunched together, their tiny arms and limbs spread across the tiny bed they shared. I was relieved when I saw their eyelids still shut, their old, purple blanket still drooped over them. I went to the kitchen to turn on the creaky faucet as quietly as possible, filling a cup with some water, and quickly gulped the drink. Without a sound, I tippy toed back to my bed and covered myself with the same, thin white sheet I've used for years. My efforts to go back to sleep were failing and I began to stare out the window and up at the stars. It also didn't help that my nightmare kept replaying over and over in my head - trapped in a dark room crying for help, but no one there to hear. I was trying to prevent myself from over analyzing the entire thing, but I couldn't help but think: was this some type of message from God? I began to wonder. Maybe life was trying to tell me something, maybe protect me from something?
