Chapter 7: Pancakes and Strawberries

Marco's POV

I woke up to see Star hugging me.

I smiled at her sweet face and gently stroked her blonde hair.

I looked at the clock on Star's side table. It was 5:30 am!

Wow, it was so early and school starts at 8:00 am.

I didn't want to wake Star up so I slowly lifted her arm and rolled out of her bed.

Since I was up so early, I decided to make breakfast...For my parents and Star, of course.

I was a great cook. I could make anything great.

I decided to make pancakes, maybe with some strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream on top if it all.

I put on my apron and started to mix up a batch of batter for the first pancake.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps going down the stairs.

It was my mama. I think she wanted to make breakfast too but HAH! I was here first.

"Good morning mama!" I said with delight.

"Oh hello Marco! What are you making?" She said.

"Pancakes... What toppings do you want mama, strawberry, blueberry or whipped cream?"

"Mmm... All of them please!"

I nodded as I flipped a pancake.

"Has Star ever tried strawberries?" Mama asked as she ate one.

"I'm not sure..."

"Well I'm sure she'll love it!"

I wish I was a strawberry... She would love me.

"Well I'm sure she will." I said.

We both went silent for a moment.

"Marco, let me give some advise..." Mama said.

"What is it?" I asked curiously.

"When you are with Star, I want you to really care for her."

"Mama I've been doing that ever since she got to Earth."

"I know but you've also got to be patient with her..."

"Be patient? Why?"

"Well she's from another dimension and your just a regular Earth boy."

I'm glad she didn't use the term Earth Turd.

"Si mama..." I said.

"And you've also got to love her with all your heart."

Wait, did she just say love her with all my heart?

"I want you to appreciate her and love her..."

Okay she actually said it...

"Love her like you do..."

OOKKKKAAAYYYY...

Then my mama patted me on the back and went back upstairs.

I looked back at the pancake that was on the frying pan. It almost burned but I think I saved it. Right timing.

Then I got the batter and made some more.

And I was still thinking about what my mama had told me.
