Prompt: write a story using the line: she ran after him.

He turned away from her and walked away. She stood ther is shock, how could he possibly leave her?

She ran after him careful of why she held in her hand. She grabbed his arm spinning him to  face her. She couldn't let him just walk away not after this.

"Why are you doing this to me?" She asked. He looked at her in disgust  as though she were nothing more that a dead animal he couldn't wait to get away from.

"Look what you've done! How could you expect me to stay with you? " He hissed, hatred burning in his eyes.

She stumbled back a step as though his words were a tangible force pushing her away. "What I've done? I did this for you, you idiot! All of this was for you!" She yelled. The knife in her hand glinted in the light.

Blood dripped from it's too. She gestured to the mangled bodies behind they, the ones whose blood was saturating the ground and clinging to her. "I did that for you! How dare you leave me!"

"I never asked you to kill them! At no point have I wanted those people dead!" He  yelled back. He was slowly backing away from her towards his car. Trying to get away from her.

Sirens could be heard in the distance and he needed to get out of here before they arrested him for the insanity in a shell that was his wife. He needed to get the stupid car door open.

But she matched him step for step and her eyes which had held some type of sanity and feeling were lost to madness. The small brunette who couldn't have ever been scary was the most menacing thing he had ever seen.

"You can't leave me. I won't let you." She whispered. She smiled at him  and a breeze tried in vain to move the hair which was stuck to the drying blood splattered across her face.

Not seeming to care she pulled a pistol from the waistband of her jeans. It was her 9mm. She held it to his head. Point blank no chance of a bullet missing him.

"Say you'll stay with me." She told him. She smiled at him a and it sent chills down his spine.

But still he shook his head. He wouldn't stay with her. Never would he consent to living that nightmare. Not after everything she had done. Besides she couldn't shoot him, the safety was on.  Now all he had to do was  stall her until the police arrived. The sirens were so very close.

Her shoulders slumped and she looked at him sadly. "We could've been together. " She told him. Her face was calm if a but saddened as she pulled the trigger. His body crumpled to the ground  blood immediately pooling about his head. The safety had not, in fact, been on. He never was all that observant.

The police pulled up, yelling to drop the weapon. She merely smiled and saved them the trouble, putting the gun to her head.

And she fell just another body in the pool of blood.
