I hum as I decorate the tree whilst Christmas music plays through the radio. Decorating the tree has always been my favourite part of Christmas. Not the present giving and receiving, just the small things.

"Victoria, have you put on the star yet?" My mothers voice rings through the air.

"No not yet. I'm still working on the rest of the decorations" I reply as I hang an icicle replica onto a branch.

It's been 2 weeks since I passed out on Sampson. Needless to say that when I woke up, I was mortified to find out what I had done and the fact that I had slept over at his place without contacting my parents. Thankfully they were in bed so they didn't question my absence.

"Vicky, someone's on the phone for you" Mom shouts to me. I place down what I'm holding on the table beside me before trudging towards the house phone. I smile at mom as she passes me the phone.

"Hello?" I question. I hear some breathing on the end of the line before a song begins to play through the end of the phone. 'Deck The Halls' courses through the telephone line. My breath hitches in my through as I hear an evil cackle from the other end. Finally the music stops playing and I almost sigh in relief until I hear a voice.

"Deck the halls with blood and victims, slice their throats while they're asleep..." The person repeats themselves until finally they stop. "Beware" They whisper before hanging up the phone. At this moment mom comes back in to check on me.

"Everything alright?" She asks. I nod my head and put on the best fake smile I can.

"Everything's fine mom" I say before going over to the rack and grabbing my coat. "I'm going to pop into town for a short while and finish buying some presents. I won't be long" I assure her. She nods and grins at me. My mom has always been a great lover of Christmas. I don't know why, but she gets extremely excited about it when it's near.

"And you have no idea who it was?" Sampson asks as he places a glass of water in front of me. I shake my head as I recall the phone call making me shiver.

"It's happened twice since that party we went to. This was the third time" I explain. Sampson nods.

"Did you maybe accidentally bump into someone? People around here are really bad when it comes to things like that" I almost choke on my water in surprise. What a silly thing to get angry about. Never the less, I shake my head.

"Do you have any...enemies?" I ask as the question almost gets stuck in my throat. Sampson looks deep in thought and is about to answer, but Mandy walks in.

"I say we train you" She explains. My head snaps towards her and I lift an eyebrow.

"Train me?" I question cautiously. She nods.

"If this is happening to you, you need to be able to protect yourself. It might look like fun and games around here, but if you're getting targeted then it's serious" She says. My breath hitches slightly.

"Okay, let's do it then" I say after a few minutes of silence. Mandy grins.

"Great!" She exclaims. Sampson looks slightly hesitant but Mandy reassures him that this is best for my safety.

"When can we start?" I question. Sampson exchanges a look with Mandy.

"How about the end of this week?" He suggests. I shrug and nod.

"Sounds good" I admit before catching a glance at the clock. "I need to go. My mom will be worried" Sampson nods and sees me to the door but not before placing a piece of paper in my hand. I give him a confused look.

"It's our number. Call us when you need us" He explains. I smile gratefully at him and nod.

"Thank you, Sampson" Sampson smiles at me and gives my shoulder a small squeeze. We exchange goodbyes before I make my way back to the border.

As I walk down the streets, I get looks from the drunken men who stand outside bars and clubs of which I do not desire to know the purpose of. I give them a slight smirk making them howl and wolf whistle at me.

I could get used to this.

Sorry it took me so long to update and that this is short! My computer won't turn on and I think it's broke and I don't really like writing chapters on my phone but oh well!
