Guess I Fell For You

*Leaf's POV*

I sat on the grass under a huge willow tree by a small pond on school campus by myself. This spot is so well hidden I could stay here on campus forever and no one would find me. I looked at the pond and seen my reflection and smiled slightly. Suddenly I could hear cheering in the distance by the main square where everyone hangs out. I could hear the familiar chant coming from a dozen cheerleaders "Gary! Gary! He's our man! If he can't do it, No one can!" I rolled my eyes as soon as I heard the ridiculous chant. I leaned against the willow tree and closed my eyes and sighed and thought of the two familiar males, one brunette, one raven black hair.

Gary Oak, my rival along with Red of course, but I haven't seen Red in years last I knew he was going to Mt. Silver, but he never came back.. Yellow was heart broken the minute she realized he wasn't coming back. Yellow was one of my best friends, along with being one of the prettiest girls in high school. We're both 17, both seniors in Viridan High. Gary and Red are both 18, Gary a senior too, but Red.. from what I know he's alone on the mountain at the very top.. I sighed and pulled out a pokeball and whispered "Venasuar come on out.." A very familiar grass and poison type appeared, I gently petted it's head and smiled. "Vena.." he said. I remember when Red, Gary, and I first got our pokemon.

*Flashback~7 years ago*

I ran towards the famous but familiar Professor Oak lab I ran inside when I could see two figures in the back of the lab with Professor Oak. I walked towards them and smiled "Hello everyone!" All 3 males looked at me and smiled "Hey." Red said "You excited for your first Pokemon?" I nodded quickly "Of course!" There was a table with three pokeballs one for each of us. Professor Oak said "Well then.." He turned to Red "What pokemon would you like?" Red grabbed a pokeball and out came a pokemon and it said "Charmander!" The professor nodded "Any particle reason you chose Charmander?" He nodded "You see when I was little my dad and mom said I have a firey spirit and a great desire to succeeded so I decided my first Pokemon should be a fire pokemon!"

The professor nodded in approval and then looked at Gary "How about you Gary? Are you going to choose Squirtle or Bulbasaur?" Gary then picked a pokeball and said "Since Red has a fire type I'll go with water!" Out of the pokeball came out a Squirtle and it said "Squirtle!" I smiled and the professor then turned to me and said "Looks like you get Bulbasaur." I nodded and grabbed the pokeball and out came a grass type and it said "Bulba!" I giggled and gently held it in my arms. The professor then gave us each a pokedex, soon when we were given our instructions Gary said "Well I gotta go! Smell ya later!" With that he left the lab leaving the professor, Red, and I dumbfounded.

I smiled at the memory when I heard Venasuar say "Vena!" I looked around suddenly alert someone was near. I could hear the ridiculous chant still in the distance and looked around some more when I couldn't see anyone I thought I was being paranoid. I sat back down and leaned against the tree once more and closing my eyes and letting my thoughts take over. I remembered all of the small times I crossed paths with Gary on our journeys. I smiled a bit and I could feel my face burn a bit and I finally opened my eyes and covered my cheeks. I mentally slapped myself and said to myself quietly "Stop it Leaf! You don't like Gary Oak!" Then I heard a voice say "Still talking to yourself Leaf?" I looked around and saw Silver my brother on the other side of the pond.

I waved "Hey Silver, and N-No! I'm not crazy you know!" He laughed and smiled and approached me "I know I know, so what's up with you and that guy? Oak?" I looked at him and said "Nothing! And his name is Gary! Oak is just his last name!" He put his hands out in defense "Alright sorry, and you like him It's all over your face, your blushing. You know that right?" I looked at my reflection in the pond and covered my cheeks "Shut up Silver!" He laughed but then looked at me seriously "Leaf.." I looked at him confused "What is it?" He sat next to me and said "Be careful with Gary Oak, he's a huge flirt, you see how he has his own cheerleaders too.." He ran one hand through his deep red hair and I nodded "Alright Silver, I'll remember that."
