Allie's POV
KNOCK KNOCK!
I get up from the couch and start for the door. Lightly stepping on the squeaking hard wood floor.
Carefully opening the front door my eyes light up to see my best friend, Nathan. Aka the love of my life.
Ok so maybe that is a little bit exaggerated but I do have the biggest crush on him. Too bad he doesn't really notice.
I mean how can boys be so oblivious to what's happening around them?
Oh well everyone knows that is never going to happen.
It's impossible, plus I would never tell him. That would just jeopardize a lives worth of friendship.
I finally catch myself staring into his dark blue mesmerizing eyes. For what seemed like the millionth time this week.
Whatever this is I need to figure it out fast.
I examine the rest of his lean build, which is covered by a graphic t shirt and finally framed by a black hoodie. His dark jeans hung loosely on his hips, as his black tousled hair sat perched on his head.
I suck in a breath before realizing that he was speaking to me.
"Am I right or am I right?" He jokes, scratching the back of his head.
"I'm sorry, what are you talking about?" I ask unsure.
"Ah, lost in your thoughts again, are we Mrs. Richardson?" He replies with a chuckle.
My heart flutters.
"Of course, Mr. Smith. What else to expect?" I giggle and take his outstretched hand.
As cliche as it sounds I felt tingles crawling up my arms at his touch.
Nathan POV
I held her hand as she giggled. I smiled, I mean how could you not?
Don't et me wrong it's not that I like Allie or anything but we were best friends. I have known her for ages and can read her like an open book.
But these days her expressions were foreign and trust me she does a good poker face.
"Do we have to go to this party? I mean I would much rather stay home and watch mean girls!" Allie whined.
"Come on! If you don't go then I will grab you by the ankles and drag you to the party!" I threaten jokingly. She sighs.
This is the first party of the school year and it would be great to live a little.
Besides after all the stress of last year I think we deserve this.
I open the door for her like a chauffeur and slip into the back seat right after.
"Onward my trusty.... Er, Brian!" I exclaim dramatically.
"Hey! I'm doing you a favour and remember you pinky sweared that I would get something." Brian says crossing his arms and pouting.
He may be 19 but I swear he acts like a 9 year old. And they say the older the wiser.
Yeah right.
"How about I make you my famous spaghetti?" Allie asks with sparkling eyes.
Let me get something straight Allie cannot cook or bake or anything of the sort. Except for spaghetti it was her million times great grandmothers recipe and has been passed down from generation to generation. And it is absolutely amazing! Like really delicious.
