Life once asked Death, "Why do people love me, but hate you?", and Death responded simply, "Because you are a beautiful lie, and I am a painful truth."
Life is said to be a beautiful gift, given to people to cherish. Death is the horrible thing that takes Life away, but why do we constantly label Death as something that is horrible and constantly unwanted by all? Death is the creature that eliminates all of the evil that surrounds us. It is the presence many wish for at their worst of times. It is an inevitable being that will always come, no matter how long you run from it. It is Life that we should sometimes fear, if we do not cherish it. Life is the thing that leads to Death. It is a gift given that so many people want to return. To them, Life is a punishment and Death is the cure.
It is often said, that, if you spend your whole Life worrying about Death, you will not even notice your Life has gone racing by. Instead of utterly fearing your inevitable end, you should allow yourself the time to live your Life, so that, when the time comes, you will welcome Death with open arms. This cannot be done when you wallow in fear and regret, either thinking Death is coming, or praying that it will come and take you to 'a happy place'.
Death is a painful truth that all have to face at one time or another. But Life is a gift that should be cherished.
Then Death will not be feared; it will be welcomed as a part of life.
