Chapter 2:
Louis's P.O.V:
I waited in the waiting room for hours, which felt like days. What if I killed her? I could never forgive myself, but besides that, my whole career would be over. Good job Louis. I barely knew this girl and I might have killed her. Rosanne Wilson. That's all I knew. What if she was pregnant? I just killed two people. My mind flooded with questions and no answers. I put my head in my hand and sat there.
By now, it was almost midnight. I'd watch people come and go, with tears down their faces or smiles on their lips. And I was still here, waiting for answers.
"Anyone here for Rosanne Wilson?" I heard a nurse say from behind a counter. I stood up and walked up to her, I looked behind me to see if anyone else was coming, but I was it.
"I am." I said, my voice shaking.
"How are you related to her?"
"I-I'm not, I crashed into her car."
"And you waited here for fourteen hours?" She asked in disbelief and I nodded.
"She's in a coma, we aren't sure if she will make it."
"You're not sure if she's going to make it?" I said in a whisper and she apologized.
"You should get going home, sir. It's midnight, you can come back as soon as the visitors are allowed." Another nurse said to me and I walked out in a daze. I got home, not remembering getting in or out of my car. I walked upstairs to my room and undressed myself to my boxers and got under the covers. I stared at the ceiling unable to close my eyes. My mind kept running and running, but everything I thought the second before was just a blur. It was almost like I was drunk, but in a way it was totally the opposite of that.
-a week later-
I had gone to the hospital everyday for the past week. The doctors said the more days she didn't awaken, the bigger the chance that she wouldn't wake up. I had gotten barely any sleep recently and I wasn't physically tired; although mentally, I was drained.
"I had never seen someone come everyday for hours, just to wait for someone that they didn't know to wake up." That same nurse said, as I greeted her at the desk.
"I don't know," I muttered, "I feel like its my responsibility to be here everyday."
"Is it because you're scared you killed her?"
"No... I don't know, I feel connected to her."
