Death isn't something that should pass through the mind of someone so young.. but at nineteen years old, Melodie Harkens was standing on railing of thst old bridge. Tears rolling down her cheeks. Her parents voices screaming out those words, on a constant replay in her fradgile mind. 'Whore.. slut.. useless.. bitch..' the cruel words digging into her brain like the silver razor, hidden in the back of her favorite book, did to her skin. Melodie could still feel the stinging if her latest 'therapy session', or so she called them. She shook herself out of her thoughts and sighed heavily. There were no more tears left, and she knew it was time. A small smile careesed her lips as she stepped off the bridge and spiralled down towards the black waters. Ready for the impact that would begin her end, her eyes closing.. but it never came. She opened her eyes to see nothing but white. She was surrounded by a colorless void. 'Did it work...? Am I dead..' she thought to herself. Had she finally succeeded? As if to mockingly answer her she was jerked awake by the sound if her cellphone going off.. it had all been a dream.. she was still trapped in her own personal hell. "God damn it.." she groaned as she rolled over, sliding her finger across the screen to silence her alarm. She could hear her parents awake upstairs in the kitchen that was directly over the basement that served as her room. Standing, she sighed.. Another day in hell.
