I was starting to fall asleep, while my roommate Natalie was already fast asleep. Soft snores escaping her mouth. My eyelids were dropping while I fought against my tiredness. A quick buzz from my bedside table made me jump. Letting out a yawn, I reached out for my phone, which was now buzzing uncontrollably. Cursing to myself I unlocked it to find a few texts from my boyfriend himself.
- Lyka?
- I'm so sorry, I forgot and fell asleep.
- Baby? R u still awake?
- LYKA
- Please don't be asleep
- You promisedddddd
Giggling lightly to myself, I decided to let him hanging for a few more minutes until I would finally answer his prayers.
- Babe, u know I can see that u read my texts right?
Damn it. So I answered
- Just come already, I'm starting to fall sleep Xx
- I'm on my way X
- Be careful, I don't want to spend my free days scrubbing the hallways ;)
10 minutes later, a soft knock wakes me up from my slumber.
I must have fallen asleep waiting for Luke, considering it was already 2 am on a Thursday morning.
Throwing my blanket from my body. I tip toed towards the door to reveal a tired looking Luke, with his gold, blond hair which was normally styled to a perfect quiff, all messed up and sticking to his forehead. He was shirtless with his pajama pants hanging loosely on his hips showing his perfect v-line.
I couldn't help but stare at his perfect body. My eyes took every curve of his body in. observing him from head to toe.
"Like what you see?" he whispers cheekily, cocking an eyebrow.
A pink blush crept upon my cheeks and I couldn't help but smile while looking at the ground.
"Aw Lyka, have I ever told you how beautiful you are when you're flustered?"
"Everyday", I responded honestly.
It was true. There wasn't a day when Luke didn't mention at least one of my features he admires or loves about me. Whether it's the way my nose is curved upwards making it "boopable" how he likes to say it. Or whether it's the way I talk in my sleep. Or how I cover my mouth when I'm laughing.
That's the thing I admire the most about Luke. He observes the little things no one would notice and besides that he's a really good listener, he always seems to have the right thing to say when you're having a bad day. He notices the little things in life and doesn't take them for granted. He enjoys the rain while others would moan about how the rain stops them from doing physical activities. Even his favorite quote has something to do with rain.
"Some people feel the rain, others just get wet"
He still eats the cookies his mother sends him and always writes her a letter telling her how awesome those cookies were. While others would throw the package in the corner of the room, letting the delicious and with love-made cookies rotten. But not Luke. I have no idea what I did to deserve such a beautiful human. But I wouldn't trade him for a single thing in the world.
Whenever we're fighting over a stupid thing for example, when he falls asleep although he promised me to come over to my dorm, which almost happened a few minutes ago, he would be the first to apologize even though he knows that he couldn't control his mind falling asleep and I'm just too stubborn to see that I was overreacting.
