Chapter 7

"Wake up. Please wake up," was the first thing I heard when I 'woke up'. I was surrounded by darkness. A bright light shinned behind me and I turned around slowly.
'Come, my dear child,' a masculine voice beckoned.
'Follow my voice,' it said again.
My feet moved on their own accord and I started to moved towards the light. My hand reached up and touched the brightness and I was sucked in.

Derek's POV

I was sitting next to Aliceanne, on the left side of the bed, holding her hand waiting for her to wake up.

"I'm sorry Derek, I didn't mean to do it," Isaac apologized for the millionth time.

"If I accept your apology will you leave me alone?" I questioned, annoyed from his pestering.

"Uh, yeah sure, I'll leave you alone," he stuttered.

"I accept your apology," I mumbled.

"Good enough for me," Isaac said and walked out of the room.

I turned my gaze back to Aliceanne and noticed beads of sweat covering her forehead. I grabbed the wash cloth that was in a bucket of cool water and twisted it until it was damp. As I was about to put it on her head she sat up straight and gasped for air.

Aliceanne's POV

As I was gasping for air I heard a large inhale of breath and looked to my left to see Derek standing there with wide eyes, a wash cloth in his hands, and his mouth in an 'o' shape.

"Derek," I whispered.

The door flew open and I was crushed in a hug with all to familiar arms.

"Guys, I...can't...breath," I gasped out.

Scott and Iris immediately let me go with tears shining in their eyes.

"We though you wouldn't wake up," Scott quietly said.

"You can't lose me that fast Scotty."

I pulled them in for another hug as I heard shuffling. I turned to see Derek's back as he walked away from the room. We were quite for a few more minutes before my stomach growled like a dying whale.

"Do we still have pizza?" I questioned as I blushed form the noise my body produced.

"Of course we do, get changed and come downstairs when you're ready," Iris said as she sand Scott walked out of the room.

I got up and looked around to notice that we were still in Derek's house. There were clothes set out for me on a spare chair. I grabbed them and went to the shower to clean of the horrid amount of sweat I had on me from however long I was out. I did my business and got out to put my clothes on when I saw a pink line at the base of the back of my neck. I turned around and gasped with tears coming to my eyes. Five claw marks ran down my back in a zigzag movement. They were pink and still slightly protruding from my back. I closed my eyes and put my tank top on and shivered. I walked out of the bathroom and went to Derek's closet and grabbed a black hoodie and put it on.

"You can do this. You can do this," I said as a quick pep talk and walked out of the room without a second thought.
