All she wanted anyway was a miracle. One life changing experience which would make her world upside down. It would come into her life and change her mere reason to live. It wasn't even like she didn't like the life she was living. Yeah, there were ups and downs, but it wasn't all that bad. She had learnt to live it now. But this always ate away at her that everybody had that one 'something' that made their life better. There were times when she forgot this, but then she would see somebody talk so passionately about a thing ,that she would immediately want to feel that passion.
So in search of this 'miracle' she grabbed every opportunity she could. Before the particular thing started she would get obsessed by the thing, but a few days after it she would start getting bored. She got disinterested very fast. That was primarily because in those days she hadn't gotten her miracle and impatient she was. Thus, she fluttered through various things just looking for some trace of it. But she failed. Every single time.
Oh, but she got a miracle. In the most unexpected place and when she expected it the least. She had given up every hope of it ever happening. And just when she thought of this....he happened. As soon as he walked into her life, he shook her. Well, quite literally. She was going to class through the corridor and as she turned the corner, something knocked the air out of her. As he helped her get up and picked up her books, she could do nothing but stare at his face. Yes, her foot hurt but it stopped mattering the minute she glanced at his face. It wasn't love at first sight or anything but as she saw his face she knew he wouldn't just be an image that passes by. She couldn't get her eyes off him and he was staring back as well.
And she remembered everything about that day. How it smelt, what the weather was, how the sky was, what he was wearing. Everything. He took her to the school doctor. She couldn't get over how concerned he looked. Another guy would have just picked up his own books and walked away. But he stayed. And that's all that mattered. She knew that this would be different. Nothing had ever felt this way.
And soon they were spending hours together and knew so much about each other that it would be hard to believe that they had barely known each other for a few days.
This is exactly what she was thinking of as she walked across the isle. And as she saw his face, everything else zoned out. Nothing else mattered. Only him. And as she saw his face, for the millionth time, she felt the same thing she had when she saw him for the first time. She knew. He was a miracle. Her miracle.
