I felt the sides of the dark brown boxes as they were being put into a large white van. "You don't have to go," my mother said behind me, "You could just stay." I laughed a little as I turned around to face her. She had always dyed her hair blonde. She always said that it was to cover up her grey hairs but I knew she just wanted to be like her older sister, I mean, who wouldn't? "Don't worry," I replied, putting my right hand on her right shoulder, "It's perfectly okay. I can't wait!" She nodded and I walked past her. "You're going to be so far away," my best friend Elise said to me as tears rolled down her cheek. Elise had been my best friend since I was around five years old. I never really went far without her; we were always together. "I will Skype you everyday," I told her as I gave her a large hug, "Please don't worry about it." She hugged me tighter than she ever did. "Ready?" Asked one of my other friends who happened to be going to the same college as me. "Yea," I replied, my voice cracking as I moved away from Elise. I walked slowly on the concrete pavement to my parents who were talking to the people they hired to drive our stuff all the way to my new home. "You be good," My father joked as he gave me a hug goodbye, knowing thats exactly what I would be. "Please don't get into serious trouble," my mother added, hugging me also. "Okay guys," I said, sort of pushing them away, "You know I hate hugs." Which, honestly, was true. Unless you were my best friend I have known since kindergarten *cough* Elise *cough* I do not like hugs from anyone.
"Come on Victoria!" Called my friend. I waved goodbye to my friends before getting into the passengers seat of my black sports car. "Do not wreck this car," I warned my friend as I put my safety belt on, "Do not scratch it. Do not do anything." My friend looked over at me and raised one eyebrow. "Okay Dakota," I said to him, "This is brand new. Your car is already on campus so you have no problem. Just don't ruin mine." He laughed and shook his head as he started the car. Dakota had dark brown hair and green eyes. His hair was short and he had bangs but they were usually up and flippy/flowy. He did have pierced ears and he always wore these small diamond earrings. I met him at a modeling job which was pretty fun. "Can we turn on music?" he asked me as we drove onto the highway. I reached up and pushed the button to turn on the music. Some new artist was playing but we just danced, even though we had no idea what was going on.
