I went outside the front door and closed it behind me. I walked over to the window and could see my mother and Joshua talking, with worried looks on their faces. I knew they were talking about me since Joshua kept pointing to the stairs to the basement. I looked away and set off to the water pump in the square.

The main square in my village is always full of people. Its also where markets are set up, so we sometimes go there together, as a family. Most students in my school go there together to shop and have fun together as friends do. So I don't go there often. School is tomorrow though. Maybe things will be better...
I walked over to the pump in the middle of the square. "Shit!" I muttered. I forgot to bring a bucket. I would have to ask someone, that is if anyone would talk to me. I saw a pretty young women sitting on a bench, with raven black hair, and grey, almost silver, eyes. She had two buckets by her feet, one empty one full. I decided to ask her if I could borrow her empty bucket. If I went home without any water, who knows what mother might say. I walked up to her and spoke. "Um, e-excuse me m'lady, but I was just w-wondering if I could borrow your bucket please? I'll give i-it back m'lady, I promise I don't steal!" I stuttered. Shockingly, instead of ignoring or insulting me, she smiled and said, " Of course! You look like a fine young lady, I wouldn't expect you to." She handed me the empty bucket. "T-thank you!" I replied in gratitude, taking the bucket from her long, pale hand. " It's no problem at all. Just when your finished with it, meet me at the willow tree in the valley entrance. I would like to know you more, you seem like a very special girl." She smiled laughing a bit. We said our goodbyes and I started to walk back home. 'I wonder why she was so nice to me' I thought. No one ever is. I decided I would take the shortcut home and turned down an alleyway. Suddenly, I stopped as I heard a voice behind me.
