Chapter 2, The Day Everything Changed

       So, everyday after school, she would walk down to the pond. She loved the feeling of gliding across the ice. Cecelia had always wanted to fly, but had a terrible fear of heights. When she was skating, she could simulate that amazing feeling of flying, but without feeling like her stomach was on earth while she was in the air. It would feel like her stomach would sink like a stone in a pond. Which,  was ironic, because she skated over a pond everyday. Anyways, Cecelia decided to go to the pond. She snatched up her mom's skates, and began the walk to the pond. It was late winter, and the ice was melting, so Cecelia wanted to get in one last skate.

          After trekking through the snow for what seemed like forever, the ice pond finally appeared at the edge of Cecelia's vision. With a sigh of relief,  Cecelia grinned and ran over to the ice, excited to be back. That day had seemed to drag on... And on... And on.........and on............

              As soon as she reached the snow bank next to the pond, she plopped down and shoved on her mom's skates, tying them tightly. The ice didn't look very promising, but she wanted to get in one last skate before the ice was too thin to skate on. Eager to be back on the ice, she rushed on, not pausing when the ice groaned uneasily. The ice continued to groan and creak but Cecelia took no notice, as she was so absorbed by the feeling that came with skating.

            And then, there was a  deafening ᏟᎡᎪᏟK! Then....

                                                Blackness.
