The bright moonlight streaked the dark sky.
Ashkit chased a rabbit through the pitch dark forest.
I've almost got it.
The rabbit suddenly stopped after Ashkit stopped to catch her breath, unaware that she was still there. She lowered her body into position, ready to pounce. Ashkit leaped through the air, soaring like a bird and landed square on the rabbit.
The rabbit struggled under her paws but it fell limp after she bent down to give it the killing bite.
My first catch!
All of a sudden, the forest faded as she blinked open her eyes. She now only saw the bramble walls of the Rainclan nursery.
"I can't believe it was just a dream." She mumbled.
She looked up to see her mother staring back at her. "What in Starclan's name are you doing Ashkit? You should be sleeping."
Ashkit looked at her paws. "I know... I just had a dream about getting my first catch! It was amazing. I wish it would happen soon."
"Don't worry, it'll happen soon." She bent down and licked Ashkit behind the ear gently. "Goodnight Ashkit."
"Goodnight Wllowstream." Ashkit snuggled against her mother, closed her eyes, and went back to dreaming.

Ashkit ran around the camp, her brother Featherkit on her tail with her sisters Dovekit and Birchkit close behind.
"You can't catch me!" She yelled.
All of a sudden, Ashkit felt the wind get knocked out of her.
"You thought I couldn't catch you, did you." Featherkit purred.
Ashkit quickly pushed him off, purring gently.
"Well, you got me good." she meowed.
Dovekit and Birchkit ran up, both of them struggling to breath.
"Wow, you're really fast! I can barely breathe!" Dovekit said, her flanks heaving.
"Sorry sis! It's just so much fun to play in the clearing! So, what do you want to do next?" Featherkit meowed.
Dovekit shrugged. Birchkit had the same reaction.
"How about a game of mossball? It'd be better than nothing I guess." Ashkit asked, nervous of what they'd say.
"Awww come on Ashkit, that's a game for newborn kits! We're almost apprentices! We need to think of something better." Featherkit meowed. "How about we sneak out and look around the territory!"
"That doesn't sound like a good idea." Ashkit mumbled. "Remember whenever Acornkit snuck out. His apprentice ceremony was held back for a quarter moon!"
"Aw come on! You know he was a clumsy kit! We won't get caught like he did. Let's go!" Featherkit meowed as they all ran toward a hole in the heather barrier.
He looked back toward Ashkit.
"Are you coming?" He demanded.
"I don't think it's such a good idea. You guys go and get in trouble, I don't care." She growled as she slumped away into the nursery.
She looked back to see if they had changed their minds, but they were already gone.
They can get in trouble, it's not my fault that they went, I tried to stop them.
She walked over to the nest she shared with her mother and littermates and curled up to sleep.
Should I have stopped them?
