The plane has landed so I turn on my phone and see that my eldest brother Eric, who was supposed to pick me up has texted me saying that something has come up and that I need to take a cab home because everyone else is busy. Perfect. They haven't seen me in a year and already I am being ditched. Welcome home to me!

I collect my baggage and make may way out onto the sidewalk where I hail cab. The drive comes out and taes my luggage from me and puts it in the boot. The rise is long but finally the driver stops in front of our home. He goes through the gate and up the driveway and I can't help but stare. It's bigger than I remember it being then again a house has to be big if it is supposed to house nine children, two aduolts and still have room for guests visiting from other packs. Plus werewolves need lots of space to run around; hence why our home is on a lot with 20 acres of forest behind it.

I pay the driver and walk up th stairs into the house. When I open it I cannot believe the state of things, there are bottles and old food everywhere along with clothes strewn all over eveyr available surface. My mother is the Luna of one of the largest packs in the world, she would have a conniption if she saw this. She always said thr house needed to look perfect because an Alpha needs to present a certain image. When you have that much wealth and power you need to own it she always said.

I make my way to the back of the house where I hear yelling and laughing along with splashes. I steo out onto the deck and see all of my brothers except Eric. Great-none of them could pick me up from the airport?

I drop my suitcase loudly on the deck and it manages to startled all of them so they are now all looking at me. There are some poeple I don't recognize in the group and it occurs to me that they may have joined the pack after I left.

"Lenny!!" my brother Carter yells and smiles at me. I can't help but break out in a grin when I hear my nickname. My mother always used to say that I was too old for that now. I was getting to the age where I need to start finding a mate and that name doesn't help me.

I would laugh when she told me that because being the only daughter of an Alpha makes me pretty desirable. As if i would have any trouble at all fnding my mate. But every person who approached me held zero interest for me. I wanted love, not convenience. However since I have been away this whole time I have lost one year's worth of searching for my mate. I just know my parents will push me harder than ever now.

"Hey you guys" I smile and give a small wave. Then all at once I am engulfed with 8 pairs of arms and being lifted off of the ground.

"Stop it you guys! haha!"

They put me down and let me go. "We are so glad to have you back girl we've missed having you around! So much has changed though since you left."

They all get serious looks on their faces. "What?" I ask .

At the same time they all say 'nothing' which makes me suspicious.

I look at my brother Carter and raise my eyebrows questioningly. he gives slight shake of his head and mouths the word 'later'.

After spending the afternoon by the pool and having dinner with my brothers and some of their friends  I make my way slowly up to my room. I wonder if it has changed at all? ut as I open the door I greeted by the familiar sight that is my bedroom. Not a thing has been touched and it is as if I never even left. I'm not sure if that comfort;s me or scares me.

I haven't seen my parents this entire time at home and I need to find Carter to get some answers. Everyone downstairs was dodging my questions at dinner and it is pissing me off. I put away the majority of my luggage while I wait for Carter to come to my room and tell me what is going on. I turn on some music and open some windows to freshen up my room. While i'm in the middle of listening to Luke Bryan I hear a knock on the door as my brother Carter steps into room. He has changed since the last time I saw him. Carter is the brother closest in age to me at just 12 months apart.

He walks around the room for a minute before sitting on my bed. He doesn't say anything which prompts me to ask..."What is going one?"

Carter stays quiet and then takes a huge breath and begins to explain what happened to our family after I left for Italy.
