Chapter 2: Finding excuses
I come home for dinner and as I walked through the door my mom yelled:
"Hey Molly! How was it? What have you done? Was there some boys with you?
-It was nice, we talked outside all the afternoon and no, there was no boys."
She came in the hall and started looking at me
"You are beautiful. I wonder why you still don't have a boyfriend!
-Mom...
-No but look at you! I can't wait to see you walk through this door with a boy."
She left so I took my bag and went upstairs, in my room. I heard someone coming and I heard my mom talking. She was probably with my dad. I listened to what she was saying and I heard:
"James I'm really worrying.. Our daughter never had a boyfriend and she's 14... She doesn't even have a crush! What if she was gay!?!? It would be horrible!!!
-Amy. How can you know she doesn't have a crush?
-I've read her diary
-MOM!? YOU READ MY DIARY!?!?
It was enough.
-MOLLY? YOU ARE LISTENING TO OUR CONVERSATIONS?
-I AM SORRY IF I OPENED MY DOOR JUST WHEN YOU SAID THAT YOU READ MY DIARY!
I slam the door, lock in and sit on my bed. I look in my school bag and find a notebook I haven't used yet. I open it and I write everything that happened today. For sure, I won't stop writing in the other one or my mom will understand.. But well.
I also wrote about those butterflies I had.. I came to the conclusion that it wasn't butterflies and that it was just my stomach being weird because of the heat. Yup. That's why.
I go downstairs in the kitchen, I take some food and go back into my room. I won't eat with them. I really don't want to see my mom. I sit at the desk and eat everything. I look at the clock. 8pm. What will I do now? At that moment, the phone rings. My mom answer and yell at me:
"MOLLY IT'S FOR YOU"
I answer:
"Hey
-hey Molly it's Jodie.
-is there something wrong?
-No Madyson will spend the night here And we were wondering if you want to come.
I searched a good excuse.
-no I'm sorry I have homework to do.
-But... Molly... School ended two weeks ago...
-oh.... Ummm... Yea... I'm sorry I really can't I need to clean my room.. Bye!"
I hang up and throw the phone on my bed. I sit against my door and take my head in my hands. Why... Now she will know that something is wrong...
I take the phone and call Jodie back.
"Hey?
-Hey it's Molly
-oh
-Yea my mom says its alright I can clean my room another day.
-Nice! So you're coming?
-yup!
-Okay we will wait for you we will watch a movie!
-okay!"
I put my pajama in my bag and go in the living room.
"Mom I'm going at Jodie's home. Ill spend the night there.
-okay."

I climb in her room were they are laying on the ground in their pajamas. I go in the bathroom and put my pjs on. When I come back in the room the girls ask me:
"What movie do you want to watch?
-The hunger games?
-good idea!"
We listen to the movie and jut when the hunger games begin, Madyson get up and run to the bathroom. We follow her to see what's wrong. She throws up her dinner and she says:
"I really don't feel good... I think I'll go home.
I panic. I don't want to stay alone with Jodie. Jodie hug Mady and tell her it's alright and to take care of her. We go back in her room. She sits on her bed so I decide to sit beside her. We finish to watch the movie. It's midnight when we finally decide to go to bed. We both lay in her bed but we keep talking about random stuff while listening to 1D. Jodie ask me:
"Are you sure everything is okay Molly?
-Yes why?
-You've been acting strange since this afternoon... I did something to you?
-No Jodie don't worry it's all fine.
I smile at her but she continue:
-you know, if something's wrong you can tell me I will do my best to help you. You know I can keep secrets and..
-Jodie. Everything. Is. Fine. Okay?
-o..okay. Goodnight!"
She close her eyes and fall asleep in 5 minutes. I can't fall asleep because I'm thinking too much... I look at her and think: she is so beautiful when she sleeps.. Her face is so peaceful. I wish i could kiss her. Stop. No. Jodie is my friend. I shouldn't think like that. I love boys. I am straight.
I fall asleep an hour after.
