Brandon paraded out of the hospital room, arms held high. Immediately, his children rushed over to him, followed by his friends and family who had prayed outside his door for hours. "Thank God you're alive!" they shrieked.
He strode out of the hospital, fingers locked with the fingers of his two children.
"Who was that man?" his wife asked. "Xander?"
Brandon smiled a bittersweet smile at Xander's memory.
"My best friend." And that was all that needed to be said.
