"Welcome to Korea, nae dongsaeng!"
I immediately ran into my step brother's arms the moment I exited the arrivals' automatic glass doors. I saw him waving his hands in the air as if he's stranded in an island and a boat just passed from a hundred meters away. My brother looked very happy. I immediately pulled away from the hug when I remembered that he wasn't able to attend my college graduation last week. I was supposed to be mad at him but happiness had taken over my system when I saw my brother, Kim Joonmyeon, with a huge grin on his face at the airport waiting for me.
We walked towards the car with three men in black and white suit following after us. Before entering the car, I looked around and felt the winter air of Incheon. One of the men opened the car door and handed me a coat and scarf. I have never been to Korea. Heck, I wasn't even given a chance to fly out of New York. I even messed up as I was undergoing the airport routine before entering the plane bound for Incheon and now here I am... outside Incheon International Airport with my brother. I have always wanted to get out of New York and when I was finally out of college, I knew that my time has arrived and that I am needed in Seoul.
When I was sixteen before I entered Dalton School in New York City and also six years before our grandfather appointed my brother Joonmyeon as CEO of Grandiose Enigma Group, my grandfather had told me that once I graduate in Columbia, he'd send me to Seoul. He believed that it is where I truly belong. I'm Korean blood and flesh and fluent in writing in Hangul and in speaking the Korean language though the only difference is that I was born and raised in the United States of America. A few months after I turned eighteen, I got my acceptance letter from University of Columbia in New York and just like what my grandfather had promised me, here I am.
My grandfather is the Chairman of Grandiose Enigma Group and my step brother Joon Myeon was inaugurated as CEO two years ago, which is an event that I never got the chance to witness because... well, college.
"How do you feel, Eunsol?" my older brother, Joonmyeon, asked me as the "men" grabbed my suitcases and duffel bags and placed it inside the back of his Audi SUV.
"I feel weird." I simply told him, glowering because of the men in black and white suit around us.
"That's okay! I'll help you adjust and get used to the lifestyle here."
I sighed and forced myself to smile.

"So, Kim Eunsol... Congratulations on your graduation! A Magna Cum Laude from the University of Columbia! That's so great!" Joonmyeon practically yelled out which caused some of the café goers to turn their heads and to look at me with fascination... while some just didn't care at all. I looked at the ground, not ready to meet the eyes of anyone. All the blood have rushed to my cheeks. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to fly to New York, Eunsol-ah."
We were inside a coffee shop somewhere in a place called Gwanghwamun just as what my brother told me before we stepped out of the car. I'm sorry I'm still not very familiar with Seoul and I've only known a few common places. I didn't know why but going to the coffeeshop had somehow reduced the jetlag feeling. It was also a good thing that his assistant and two of the men chose to stay outside the coffee shop. I wouldn't want to keep my head down when curious eyes stare at us as if were aliens because there are men in corporate attires following us.
