Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much (Zayn Malik/One Direction Fanfic)

Chapter One

*Louis' POV*

I was finally going to propose to her. At the age of 24 I felt that I had finally found the perfect girl for me. Also I and Kirsten have been together for 1 year now and I am pretty well sure that we both truly love each other. She is an beautiful, independant girl who knows exactly what she wants in life.

Harry and Niall are here too. Harry was in Italy, where I now lived, to start a new restaurant here aswell and I happened to be throwing one of the most important parties of my life so of course I had to invite him. Niall had moved Dublin after college where he is doing a course in hotel management. Liam and Zayn were the only ones missing. Liam lives in Manchester where he owns a restaurant. Zayn moved back to London after college and joined his dad's business. I just wish that they were here on my special day.

We were now all slow dancing. Harry was dancing with one of Kirsten's friends and of course I was dancing with Kirsten. Kirsten had no idea what I was going to do. On cue the music started to fade away and everyone turned towards us. Kirsten looked confused.

I slowly lowered myself onto one knee and Kirsten looked shocked. Suddenly she realised whats happening  and she smacked her palm on her mouth gasping. I grinned like a maniac and pulled out a ring. She now had tears welling up in her eyes.

"Will you marry me?"

She smiled at me while pulling my hand so I was now on the same level as her. She came closer and put her hands around me neck. Our noses were touching now and she pecked me on my lips quickly.

"Of course I will" She whispered.  

I slammed my lips onto hers. Cheers erupted and many people were even crying, of happiness of course.

*2 hours later*

Harry and I were walking towards the bar where Dan and Jake were having a drink. Dan had got married about 6 months ago to Natalie and something had happened at his bachelor party that no one knew except Jake. But today we were guaranteed to find out. This trick never failed.

 "Hey Dan, Jake" I grabbed them and gave them a hug.

"Hey boys! Congratulations Lou on finally asking the girl to marry her, now go have a grand bachelor party and enjoy your moments of still being one" He winked and all four of us laughed.

"Haha I will mate, just won't get into the trouble you did"

Dan and Jake exchanged a glance as if Dan was asking if Jake had said anything to anyone about it and Jake shaked his head saying no he hadn't uttered a word.    I looked at Harry who was utterly amused and gave him a smug look. We didn't know what he had done but we were sure as hell going to find out! Dan turned around and sighed.  

"How did you find out?" He asked in a worried way.

Harry replied "I guess what happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas dude" 

Dan's bachelor party was in Vegas for a week and the saying just happened to match.

"It was hard man. She was American, and so hot I could not turn her down and I was so drunk at the time I didn't even care"  

Both me and Harry looked at eachother eyebrows raised and a smug look on our faces. This was new information for us and it was even better since it was coming from the horses mouth. Harry decided to prank Dan and pointed behind them "Hey Natalie" with a scared look on his face. Dan turned around terrified that she had just heard everything and as soon as he did we burst out laughing since obviously she wasn't there and Harry was messing with him.

Dan gave us a unamused look and carried on "Look, just don't tell Kirsten okay? She will tell Natalie and everything will be messed up, you know how girls are right?"    

I and Harry could not contain our laughter anymore so we burst out laughing earning ourselves confused faces from both Dan and Jake.   

"W-what?" Dan asked with a confused face. 

Harry replied "Mate, we didn't know any of this. You just spilled it all out to us!" Then he continued laughing.

"WHAT?" Jake yelled causing half the party to turn around and face us. "Sorry" he shouted and everyone turned back to what they were previously doing.

"Yeah mate, we knew nothing about the fact that you slept with another girl, you just told us now"

"Lou has this trick"

They looked at us with shocked faces which looked like someone had just slapped them. 

"Whatever, dude, just don't tell anyone okay?" 

"Sure mate" I replied

I and Harry started walking away and as soon as we were out of sight we started laughing again. This was not the first and certainly not the last time we would use that trick.
