The Night Before

The Beginning

This whole friendship started when I ,Scarlett Matthews, became friends with the shy kid down the block Zack Peters.Zack wasn't like most kids.He always was quiet and never with another person.When we were four years old I finally befriended him.It was an instant friendship.
Now,I know what you are thinking,this is the same old story of girl meets boy but it's not!These is a changing point for all romantic stories.
Zack ,who now is 6 feet tall with curly brown hair and hazel eyes, is one of the handsomest guys at my school.To this day he still talks to no one but me.To Be honest he is so quiet most people don't know he's around until you see him.
We usually went to school together,most days we would take he's car but today we took mine.I drove into he's driveway and watched him as he stepped into my car.He wore he's usual attire,Jeans and a T-shirt with sneakers.
"Good Morning ,Zack"
"Morning Sunshine"
"Did you finish Ms.Maltmerz homework?"
"Yeah.I did it after I dropped you off at home."
I shook my head in approval .He plugged he's phone into my aux cord.Most times when these happend Panic!At The Disco was the main choice.
"Did you ever listen to that song I told you too?"He said
"C'mon?Yeah.Thanks for getting me addicted to yet another."
He laughed with his smirk plastered on his face.Everything about him was perfect.Besides being a amazing person he played soccer and Basketball.He was also my tutor because he was ridiculously smart.He made the funniest jokes all the time too.
"So..What lucky girl will you be escorting to Prom?"
He gave me a confused look"I don't have a date."
I was a little shocked.
"What mystery man is taking you?"
"Mystery man?He really must be a mystery because nobody has asked me."
"It's a shame for us to go by ourselves.."Zack said
"Yeah..Kinda sucks huh?"
"Why don't you go with me?"
I was shocked and suprised.I was staring at him until I realized my car was going in the other lane.
I didn't say anything for awhile.
"Did I upset you?I mean if you don't want to go with me you don't have to."
"No you didn't offend me."
"You are the only person I like so it made since to go with you.."
Like?Zack likes me?My cheeks flushed red as fire.I couldn't get my words right to say anything.
By that time one of my favorite songs came on.
"Hey.Isn't this your favorite song?Zack noticed
"Yes!I forgot you had this on your phone!"
He started singing the song in the worst voice ever.
I started singing also.He was the only person I felt comfortable singing around.He smiled at me as we pulled into the school parking lot.
