We are all failures sometimes

When Sydney's mom brings us back home from Starbucks my mom has dinner ready. "Hey honey, how was your day? Are you hungry? Have something to eat."
"Hi mom, my day was good, yes I'm hungry, and don't mind if I do" I say trying to keep up with all of the questions she has for me. "Do you want to see what what I got at the mall?" "Sure" mom says I slowly pull out the purple dress from the black bag. " it's beautiful" mom said "I want to see" said Crystal so I held it up for the whole family to see. "That's great princess! When is the dance going to be?" A very familiar voice said. I turn to see who it was, and it was dad! He had came back home from a business trip the day before the dance! I am so happy me, Crystal and, Jack all run up to him and give him a lot of hugs and kisses. "The dance is tomorrow" I told him. "Ok, we will have to take lots of pictures before you go, and some with your new friends after. mom told me all about them." I smiled at him then at mom and we all sat down  to finish our dinner. "So how was the trip" asked Jack? "It was great, we got our idea on the board and the house looked at it and loved it! And the most exciting thing is... I got a raise!" Just then mom tossed her fork on the plate of spaghetti and starts crying tears of joy "Oh my goodness honey that's great"
"What's a raise?" Asked Crystal, then Jack says with the biggest smile I have ever seen on his face "MORE MONEY" we all laugh "That means daddy will have a little more spending money and can get you some of the things you've been waiting for a long time" says mom
"Like a hover board!" Jack says very excited. "Whoa, hold your horses Johnny boy" dad laughs "Can we get a hamster?" I say just out of curiosity then we all Realized something that we haven't seen before happen three days in a row Crystal finish all of her food. "Umm Crystal are my eyes deceiving me? Did you actually finish all of your food?"
"I was hungry" she said shrugging the question off "Alright honey spill did you give your food to the dog or cat?" Asked dad "She could have I put them in their cage so she wouldn't" said mom "Crystal how about you tell us what's going on right now" said Jack "Ok, well there is this boy at my school he never goes through the lunch line to buy any food and he doesn't bring his lunch either so I asked him why and he said that he doesn't have enough money for that, so for the past three days I have gave him my lunch, don't be mad at me." Just then my heart sank "Why would you think we would be mad at you?" I said I was actually really mad at the fact that she hadn't told us earlier. "Ok I'll tell you what, I will put a hundred dollars in your lunch account, and we will pack him a lunch everyday." Dad said, but Crystal shook her head no "But what about his mom and baby sister, how are they supposed too eat?"
"Then I'll take the raise I got an give the money to his mom, what's this kids name?" Dad asked, but Crystal didn't answer "Hello, anyone home?" Dad looked up from his phone all she said was "what have I done?" And ran upstairs with tears in her eyes.
