The Hogwarts express left the station with a puff of smoke, this was Lily and Hugo's first year, Albus and Rose's third, and James' fifth. Everyone was buzzing with excitement, the Hogwarts express was always like this, not a single person dreaded September First. The two young cousins had high expectations of their first year but the train ride didn't go how they planned. First, James left to hang out with his friends, telling the two that Albus and Rose would show them around. Second, Albus and Rose sat in different compartments with different friends that neither of the two knew. Third, they were horribly, terribly, and decisively lost.
"Lily, I don't think that's the right way." Hugo yells, running after the red head.
"Hugo, don't be such a scaredy Kneazle. If it's the wrong way then we'll just see a new part of the train." Lily says, poking her cousin.
"Lily!" Hugo groans, she never listens.
"Hugo!" She mimics, searching the compartments.
"We need to find a seat."
"That's what I'm doing." Lily complains, she believes that Hugo is trying to prove he knows better, and she's not half wrong.
Hugo grumbles a bit but keeps following her, partly afraid that if they split up things would get worse.
"This is it!" Lily yells and opens a compartment that is filled with sleeping fourth years.
"Lily, if you open the wrong one again I'm taking control." Hugo hisses, embarrassed even though the people are fast asleep.
Suddenly, a voice sounds from behind them, "Hey, um... we've seen you walk past a few times and were wondering if you wanted to come sit with us." A small girl with a huge mess of curls asks, her eyes trained to the floor.
"Cool." Hugo says and walks towards the compartment but stops when Lily doesn't move, "Come on."
Lily looks around, wondering if she should continue looking for someone they know but shrugs and follows Hugo.
Through the whole time they didn't notice the arguing people walking through the train as well, who were also looking for an empty compartment.
