I walked into Salernos and sat where Ben was going to play. Ben was the lead singer of Elijahs band before Elijah took over. Someone tapped my shoulder and I turned around, smiling wide when I saw those familiar brown eyes. Elijah leaned down and softly kissed me for a few seconds before breaking apart. He sat next to me, his arm around my shoulders.

"I figured you'd be more happy to see me." I giggled.

He rolled his eyes. "I'm ecstatic to see you. It's been how long?"

"Uh..." I counted on my fingers. "5 months or more."

"See! We haven't even texted." He frowned. I looked at my phone to see we still had a while until Ben started. I stood and pulled Elijah outside. "What are you doing?"

"Kissing you." I shrugged and deeply kissed him. I could feel him grin as he kissed back, just as deep. His hands went to my hips and I wrapped my arms around his neck, my back pushing against the outside of the building. He slowly broke apart and laid his forehead on mine.

"I missed you so much." He whispered. "Your semester ended and you said you'd go on tour with me."

I bit my lip and looked down. "I uh... I got a job... So I can't go with you. I can't even stay the whole time tonight."

"What? That's so unfair, Roxanne."

"Unfair?" I looked at him. "I know we barely see each other but not everyone can do what they love. Some people, like me, have to work just to survive." I walked away and passed the band as they were walking to Salernos, and got in my car, starting it. Elijah ran over but I backed up and left before he could stop me. Did I overreact? Maybe. But he didn't have to say that it was unfair. Life isn't fair.
