PARAPLANO is set in a slightly alternate version of modern day society, perhaps a little in the future, where some of the technology is more advanced and less costly, and the attitudes and morals of people are different too. The story will follow both the lives of Ella and Chase, as well as Vincent, back on Earth. And yes, it may seem quite confusing, but please bear with us, it should all be clearer after a couple of chapters. (The synopsis is for the documentary, and not for the book, you'll see.)

SYNOPSIS:
Filmmaker Fernando Alvarez explores the world in which Vincent DeTruire has created, literally. Nineteen years ago, the Harvard graduate launched his man-made planet, nicknamed Paracosm, into Earth's orbit. DeTruire and his team follow the lives of two humans, Chase Dartmouth and Ella Joyce, who have been living on Paracosm for their whole lives. Dartmouth and Joyce live amongst a replica of Earth's society, however, the other members of society are humanoid robots, dubbed 'faux humans'. What the two don't know is that their whole world has been carefully constructed and cared for by DeTruire's world scale corporation, Live To Experiment [LTE].
In this film, Alvarez has persuaded DeTruire to let the two subjects finally meet. Through the new development in the experiment, Alvarez captures one of humanity's truly greatest scientists at work.
But even the world's greatest scientists make mistakes. Foolish mistakes that leave Ella and Chase with more questions than Vincent has answers for.
