I smiled at the lady at the desk as I gave her my passport and ticket. I can't wait to get back home I thought to my self and smiled when I thought of my boyfriend Zac waiting for me at the airport when I get back.
"There we go!" She smiled back and handed me my stuff. "Through that door that way! Have a nice flight"
"Thank you!" I waved cheerfully as I left in the direction she pointed towards.
I felt so happy on the way to the plane I can't wait to see my family and Zac! Not looking forward to going back to school but - I was knocked from my thoughts when a young boy slammed into the back of me.
"Owch!" I turned back to look who it was
"I'm so sorry miss, he's just a little excited, it's his first time flying!" A lady explained (I'm assuming it's his mother.)
"No worries" I scrunched the little boys hair and moved so he could run past.
I walked after by now a cue had formed to get in. Urgh I hope I have a descent seat I signed as I walked through the door. I looked around and people were already taking their seats. I took my seat next to a girl who appeared to be just a little older than me.
"Hey" I said as I took my seat.
"Hey, I'm so glad I'm sitting next to someone like you and not some annoying kid or some fat bloke." She huffed and rolled her eyes.
"Hah, well thanks, I guess" I didn't know how to reply to that. I took out my earphones and flipped through my music.
"Attention passengers of Oceanic 855, we will be flying shortly. Please put on your seat belts."
I looked around and put on my seatbelt and prepared myself for the flight. I hate flying. It makes my belly do backflips and I usually like to sit next to the window, but the girl next to me was sitting there instead.
I took a deep breath as the flight left the ground.
"Phobia of flying huh?" A rugged looking young man said seated opposite me.
"Uh, no I wouldn't say I have a phobia, I'm just a little scared that's all." I said my hands clutching the handles by the side of me.
"Oh right" he raised his eyebrows and looked away.
"Hey would you please keep your son under control!" An old man shouted at the mother of the young boy I bumped into earlier.
"For goodness sake he's only 7, give him a break!" She retorted.
"I don't care how old he is he needs to sit and be quiet!" The old man huffed and sat back in his seat.
"Ryan you need to behave okay?" The mother faced his son.
"But I'm booooorred" Ryan said holding the 'o' for quite some time.
I giggled at this and the mother turned towards me with an apologetic smile. I waved the thought away and mouthed "It's okay." I turned my music on and tilted my head back. Just enjoy the ride. I thought to myself it's just a flight. No need to panic.
But how wrong I was.
About three hours into the flight, we started to get turbulence. I gripped my chair so tight my knuckles were white and shut my eyes.
