Gyre And Gimble

Chapter 3

I tried doodling Chester's face. I haven't figured out his nose, or his body so yeah. I'll show you the finished product later.

     It's hustling and bustling behind the palace gates today. The crowds are high and there's a motion parting the crowd like the Red Sea. Two 15 year old twins run through, wearing normal clothes instead of the fashionable red heart royalty clothes they normally wear. The boy runs ahead of the girl through the crowd. They girl chases after her slightly younger brother.

     "Reid! Wait! Where are you going?!" Reena calls out, trying to keep up with Reid.

     "To sneak out the gates! To see the world beyond!" Reid calls back. He doesn't even realize he's just screened his master plan out loud.

     "You idiot! We'll get-" Reena yells back before a figure steps in front of them, they crash into him. He's wearing a red heart guard uniform, it's fancier then the others because of his such high position.

     "What are you two doing here?" The figure asks them.

     "Jack," Reena says, frightened.

     "Jack!" Reid yells, relieved.

     "It was all Reid's fault, Jack. He wants to sneak out!" Reena explains.

     "Can I get a reason why, Reid?" Jack turns to Reid.

     "Please, Jack! Let me through the gates. I'm 15! I want to see the world beyond!" Jack explains frantically.

     Jack sighs. "If you two aren't back in three moons, I'm sending men out to kill whoever has you, no matter what they mean to you. And I'm dragging you back here and never letting you passed the wall again," He says harshly.

     "Got it!" Reid chirps happily.

     "Got it," Reena sighs.

     "Stay safe you two," Jack pats them both on the back before letting them through the gates. They pass before Reena turns around.

     "Please don't tell Mother and Father," she begs.

     "I'll try my best," Jack reassures.

     "Give my wishes to Dawn for me!" Reena calls as they start forward.

     "Will do! Good luck!" Jack yells back as he waves them off,

     "Bye Jack! Thank you!" Reid calls back.

     "Bye Jack!" Reena calls back.

     They disappear, into the Madland.

     "Where are we now, Reid?" Reena asks. They had been traveling by map for a few hours and had come across a forest with large mushrooms everywhere around them.

     "The Mushroom Forest," Reid told her as they traveled deeper into the forest. 

     They come a mushroom with a young man on top, he's smoking a hookah and staring at them. They stop.

     "Uh. . . Hello sir,". Reid says to the man. The man says nothing.

     "Did you know that smoking is bad for your health sir?" Reena asked, disgusted.

     "Who are you two?" The man asks, looking down at them. He takes a drag and blows a perfect circle on them.

     "Oh well, I'm Reid," Reid says happily with a smile.
